atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvo mahāmatibodhisattvasahitaḥ sarvabuddhakṣetrānucārī buddhānubhāvena utthāyāsanādekāṃsamuttarāsaṅgaṃ kṛtvā dakṣiṇaṃ jānumaṇḍalaṃ pṛthivyāṃ pratiṣṭhāpya yena bhagavāṃstenāñjaliṃ praṇamya bhagavantaṃ gāthābhirabhyaṣṭāvīt -

utpādabhaṅgarahito lokaḥ khapuṣpasaṃnibhaḥ |

sadasannopalabdhaste prajñayā kṛpayā ca te || 1 ||

māyopamāḥ sarvadharmāḥ cittavijñānavarjitāḥ |

sadasannopalabdhāste prajñayā kṛpayā ca te || 2 ||

śāśvatocchedavarjyaśca lokaḥ svapnopamaḥ sadā |

sadasannopalabdhaste prajñayā kṛpayā ca te || 3 ||

māyāsvapnasvabhāvasya dharmakāyasya kaḥ stavaḥ |

bhāvānāṃ niḥsvabhāvānāṃ yo'nutpādaḥ sa saṃbhavaḥ || 4 ||

indriyārthavisaṃyuktamadṛśyaṃ yasya darśanam |

praśaṃsā yadi vā nindā tasyocyeta kathaṃ mune || 5 ||

dharmapudgalanairātmyaṃ kleśajñeyaṃ ca te sadā |

viśuddhamānimittena prajñayā kṛpayā ca te || 6 ||

na nirvāsi nirvāṇena nirvāṇaṃ tvayi saṃsthitam |

buddhaboddhavyarahitaṃ sadasatpakṣavarjitam || 7 ||

ye paśyanti muniṃ śāntamevamutpattivarjitam |

te bhonti nirupādānā ihāmutra nirañjanāḥ || 8 ||

atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvo bhagavantamābhiḥ sārūpyābhirgāthābhirabhiṣṭutya svanāmagotraṃ bhagavate saṃśrāvayati sma -

mahāmatirahaṃ bhagavan mahāyānagatiṃ gataḥ |

aṣṭottaraṃ praśnaśataṃ pṛcchāmi vadatāṃ varam || 9 ||

tasya tadvacanaṃ śrutvā buddho lokavidāṃ varaḥ |

nirīkṣya pariṣadaṃ sarvāmalapī sugatātmajam || 10 ||

pṛcchantu māṃ jinasutāstvaṃ ca pṛccha mahāmate |

ahaṃ te deśayiṣyāmi pratyātmagatigocaram || 11 ||

atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvo bhagavatā kṛtāvakāśo bhagavataścaraṇayornipatya bhagavantaṃ praśnaṃ paripṛcchati sma -

kathaṃ hi śudhyate tarkaḥ kasmāttarkaḥ pravartate |

kathaṃ hi dṛśyate bhrāntiḥ kasmādbhrāntiḥ pravartate || 12 ||

kasmātkṣetrāṇi nirmāṇā lakṣaṇaṃ tīrthikāśca ye |

nirābhāsaḥ kramaḥ kena jinaputrāśca te kutaḥ || 13 ||

muktasya gamanaṃ kutra baddhaḥ kaḥ kena mucyate |

dhyāyināṃ viṣayaḥ ko'sau kathaṃ yānatrayaṃ bhavet || 14 ||

pratyate jāyate kiṃ tatkāryaṃ kiṃ kāraṇaṃ ca kim |

ubhayāntakathā kena kathaṃ vā saṃpravartate || 15 ||

ārūpyā ca samāpattirnirodhaśca kathaṃ bhavet |

saṃjñānirodhaśca kathaṃ kathaṃ kasmāddhi mucyate || 16 ||

kriyā pravartate kena gamanaṃ dehadhāriṇām |

kathaṃ dṛśyaṃ vibhāvo kathaṃ kathaṃ bhūmiṣu vartate || 17 ||

nirbhidyentribhavaṃ ko'sau kiṃ sthānaṃ kā tanurbhavet |

sthitaḥ pravartate kutra jinaputraḥ kathaṃ bhavet || 18 ||

abhijñā labhate kena vaśitāśca samādhayaḥ |

samādhyate kathaṃ cittaṃ brūhi me jinapuṃgava || 19 ||

ālayaṃ ca kathaṃ kasmānmanovijñānameva ca |

kathaṃ pravartate dṛśyaṃ kathaṃ dṛśyānnivartate || 20 ||

gotrāgotraṃ kathaṃ kena cittamātraṃ bhavetkatham |

lakṣaṇasya vyavasthānaṃ nairātmyaṃ ca kathaṃ bhavet || 21 ||

kathaṃ na vidyate sattvaḥ saṃvṛtyā deśanā katham |

kathaṃ śāśvataucchedadarśanaṃ na pravartate || 22 ||

kathaṃ hi tīrthikāstvaṃ ca lakṣaṇairna virudhyase |

naiyāyikāḥ kathaṃ brūhi bhaviṣyanti anāgate || 23 ||

śūnyatā ca kathaṃ kena kṣaṇabhaṅgaśca te katham |

kathaṃ pravartate garbhaḥ kathaṃ loko nirīhikaḥ || 24 ||

māyāsvapnopamaḥ kena kathaṃ gandharvasaṃnibhaḥ |

marīcidakacandrābhaḥ kena loko bravīhi me || 25 ||

bodhyaṅgānāṃ kathaṃ kena bodhipakṣā bhavetkutaḥ |

marāśca deśasaṃkṣobho bhavadṛṣṭiḥ kathaṃ bhavet || 26 ||

ajātamaniruddhaṃ ca kathaṃ khapuṣpasaṃnibham |

kathaṃ ca budhyase lokaṃ kathaṃ brūṣe nirakṣaram || 27 ||

nirvikalpā bhavetkena kathaṃ ca gaganopamāḥ |

tathatā bhavetkatividhā cittaṃ pāramitāḥ kati || 28 ||

bhūmikramo bhavetkena nirābhāsagatiśca kā |

nairātmyaṃ ca dvidhā kena kathaṃ jñeyaṃ viśudhyati || 29 ||

jñānaṃ katividhaṃ nātha śīlaṃ sattvākarāṇi ca |

kena pravartitā gotrāḥ suvarṇamaṇimuktajāḥ || 30 ||

abhilāpo jānikaḥ kena vaicitrasattvabhāvayoḥ |

vidyāsthānakalāścaiva kathaṃ kena prakāśitam || 31 ||

gāthā bhavetkatividhā gadyaṃ padyaṃ bhavetkatham |

kathaṃ yuktiḥ katividhā vyākhyānaṃ ca kathaṃvidham || 32 ||

annapānaṃ ca vaicitryaṃ maithunaṃ jāyate katham |

rājā ca cakravartī ca maṇḍalī ca kathaṃ bhavet || 33 ||

rakṣyaṃ bhavetkathaṃ rājyaṃ devakāyāḥ kathaṃvidhāḥ |

bhūnakṣatragaṇāḥ kena somabhāskarayoḥ katham || 34 ||

vidyāsthānaṃ bhavetkiṃ ca mokṣo yogī katividhaḥ |

śiṣyo bhavetkatividha ācāryaśca bhavetkatham || 35 ||

buddho bhavetkatividho jātakāśca kathaṃvidhāḥ |

māro bhavetkatividhaḥ pāṣaṇḍāśca katividhāḥ || 36 ||

svabhāvaste katividhaścittaṃ katividhaṃ bhavet |

prajñaptimātraṃ ca kathaṃ brūhi me vadatāṃvara || 37 ||

ghanāḥ khe pavanaṃ kena smṛtirmegho kathaṃ bhavet |

taruvallyaḥ kathaṃ kena brūhi me tribhaveśvara || 38 ||

hayā gajā mṛgāḥ kena grahaṇaṃ yānti bāliśāḥ |

uhoḍimā narāḥ kena brūhi me cittasārathe || 39 ||

ṣaḍṛtugrahaṇaṃ kena kathamicchantiko bhavet |

strīpuṃnapuṃsakānāṃ ca kathaṃ janma vadāhi me || 40 ||

kathaṃ vyāvartate yogātkathaṃ yogaḥ pravartate |

kathaṃ caivaṃvidhā yoge narāḥ sthāpyā vadāhi me || 41 ||

gatyāgatānāṃ sattvānāṃ kiṃ liṅgaṃ kiṃ ca lakṣaṇam |

dhaneśvaro kathaṃ kena brūhi me gaganopama || 42 ||

śākyavaṃśaḥ kathaṃ kena kathamikṣvākusaṃbhavaḥ |

ṛṣirdīrghapatāḥ kena kathaṃ tena prabhāvitam || 43 ||

tvameva kasmātsarvatra sarvakṣetreṣu dṛśyase |

nāmaiścitraistathārūpairjinaputraiḥ parīvṛtaḥ || 44 ||

abhakṣyaṃ hi kathaṃ māṃsaṃ kathaṃ māṃsaṃ niṣidhyate |

kravyādagotrasaṃbhūtā māsaṃ bhakṣyanti kena vai || 45 ||

somabhāskarasaṃsthānā merupadmopamāḥ katham |

śrīvatsasiṃhasaṃsthānāḥ kṣetrāḥ kena vadāhi me || 46 ||

vyatyastā adhamūrdhāśca indrajālopamāḥ katham |

sarvaratnamayā kṣetrāḥ kathaṃ kena vadāhi me || 47 ||

vīṇāpaṇavasaṃsthānā nānāpuṣpaphalopamāḥ |

ādityacandravirajāḥ kathaṃ kena vadāhi me || 48 ||

kena nirmāṇikā buddhāḥ kena buddhā vipākajāḥ |

tathatā jñānabuddhā vai kathaṃ kena vadāhi me || 49 ||

kāmadhātau kathaṃ kena na vibuddho vadāhi me |

akaniṣṭhe kimarthaṃ tu vītarāgeṣu budhyase || 50 ||

nirvṛte sugate ko'sau śāsanaṃ dhārayiṣyati |

kiyatsthāyī bhavecchāstā kiyantaṃ sthāsyate nayaḥ || 51 ||

siddhāntaste katividho dṛṣṭiścāpi kathaṃvidhā |

vinayo bhikṣubhāvaśca kathaṃ kena vadāhi me || 52 ||

parāvṛttigataṃ kena nirābhāsagataṃ katham |

pratyekajinaputrāṇāṃ śrāvakāṇāṃ vadāhi me || 53 ||

abhijñā laukikāḥ kena bhavellokottarā katham |

cittaṃ hi bhūmayaḥ sapta kathaṃ kena vadāhi me || 54 ||

saṃghaste syātkatividhaḥ saṃghabhedaḥ kathaṃ bhavet |

cikitsāśāstraṃ sattvānāṃ kathaṃ kena vadāhi me || 55 ||

kāśyapaḥ krakuchandaśca konākamunirapyaham |

bhāṣase jinaputrāṇāṃ vada kasmānmahāmune || 56 ||

asatyātmakathā kena nityanāśakathā katham |

kasmāttattvaṃ na sarvatra cittamātraṃ prabhāṣase || 57 ||

naranārīvanaṃ kena harītakyāmalīvanam |

kailāsaścakravālaśca vajrasaṃhananā katham || 58 ||

acalāstadantare vai ke nānāratnopaśobhitāḥ |

ṛṣigandharvasaṃkīrṇāḥ kathaṃ kena vadāhi me || 59 ||

idaṃ śrutvā mahāvīro buddho lokavidāṃ varaḥ |

mahāyānamayaṃ cittaṃ buddhānāṃ hṛdayaṃ balam || 60 ||

sādhu sādhu mahāprajña mahāmate nibodhase |

bhāṣiṣyāmyanupūrveṇa yattvayā paripṛcchitam || 61 ||

utpādamatha notpādaṃ nirvāṇaṃ śūnyalakṣaṇam |

saṃkrāntimasvabhāvatvaṃ buddhāḥ pāramitāsutāḥ || 62 ||

śrāvakā jinaputrāśca tīrthyā hyārūpyacāriṇaḥ |

merusamudrā hyacalā dvīpā kṣetrāṇi medinī || 63 ||

nakṣatrā bhāskaraḥ somastīrthyā devāsurāstathā |

vimokṣā vaśitābhijñā balā dhyānā samādhayaḥ || 64 ||

nirodhā ṛddhipādāśca bodhyaṅgā mārga eva ca |

dhyānāni cāpramāṇāni skandhā gatyāgatāni ca || 65 ||

samāpattirnirodhāśca vyutthānaṃ cittadeśanā |

cittaṃ manaśca vijñānaṃ nairātmyaṃ dharmapañcakam || 66 ||

svabhāvaḥ kalpanā kalpyaṃ dṛśyaṃ dṛṣṭidvayaṃ katham |

yānākarāṇi gotrāṇi suvarṇamaṇimuktijāḥ || 67 ||

icchantikā mahābhūtā bhramarā ekabuddhatā |

jñānaṃ jñeyo gamaṃ prāptiḥ sattvānāṃ ca bhavābhavam || 68 ||

hayā gajā mṛgāḥ kena grahaṇaṃ brūhi me katham |

dṛṣṭāntahetubhiryuktaḥ siddhānto deśanā katham || 69 ||

kāryaṃ ca kāraṇaṃ kena nānābhrāntistathā nayam |

cittamātraṃ na dṛśyo'sti bhūmīnāṃ nāsti vai kramaḥ || 70 ||

nirābhāsaparāvṛttiśataṃ kena bravīṣi me |

cikitsaśāstraṃ śilpāśca kalāvidyāgamaṃ tathā || 71 ||

acalānāṃ tathā meroḥ pramāṇaṃ hi kṣiteḥ katham |

udadheścandrasūryāṇāṃ pramāṇaṃ brūhi me katham || 72 ||

sattvadehe kati rajāṃsi hīnotkṛṣṭamadhyamāḥ |

kṣetre kṣetre rajāḥ kṛtto dhanvo dhanve bhavetkati || 73 ||

haste dhanuḥkrame krośe yojane hyardhayojane |

śaśavātāyanaṃ likṣā eḍakaṃ hi yavāḥ kati || 74 ||

prasthe hi syādyavāḥ kyantaḥ prasthārdhe ca yavāḥ kati |

droṇe khāryāṃ tathā lakṣāḥ koṭyo vai biṃbarāḥ kati || 75 ||

sarṣape hyaṇavaḥ kyanto rakṣikā sarṣapāḥ kati |

katirakṣiko bhavenmāṣo dharaṇaṃ māṣakāḥ kati || 76 ||

karṣo hi dharaṇāḥ kyantaḥ palaṃ vai kati kārṣikā |

etena piṇḍalakṣaṇaṃ meruḥ katipalo bhavet |

evaṃ hi pṛccha māṃ putra anyathā kiṃ nu pṛcchasi || 77 ||

pratyekaśrāvakāṇāṃ hi buddhānāṃ ca jinaurasām |

katyaṇuko bhavetkāyaḥ kiṃ nu evaṃ na pṛcchasi || 78 ||

vahneḥ śikhā katyaṇukā pavane hyaṇavaḥ kati |

indriye indriye kyanto romakūpe bhruvoḥ kati ||79 ||

dhaneśvarā narāḥ kena rājānaścakravartinaḥ |

rājyaṃ ca taiḥ kathaṃ rakṣyaṃ mokṣaścaiṣāṃ kathaṃ bhavet || 80 ||

gadyaṃ padyaṃ kathaṃ brūṣe maithunaṃ lokaviśrutā |

annapānasya vaicitryaṃ naranārivanāḥ katham || 81 ||

vajrasaṃhananāḥ kena hyacalā brūhi me katham |

māyāsvapnanibhāḥ kena mṛgatṛṣṇopamāḥ katham || 82 ||

ghanānāṃ saṃbhavaḥ kutra ṛtūnāṃ ca kuto bhavet |

rasānāṃ rasatā kasmātkasmātstrīpuṃnapuṃsakam || 83 ||

śobhāśca jinaputrāśca kutra me pṛccha māṃ suta |

kathaṃ hi acalā divyā ṛṣigandharvamaṇḍitāḥ || 84 ||

muktasya gamanaṃ kutra baddhaḥ kaḥ kena mucyate |

dhyāyināṃ viṣayaḥ ko'sau nirmāṇastīrthakāni ca || 85 ||

asatsadakriyā kena kathaṃ dṛśyaṃ nivartate |

kathaṃ hi śudhyate tarkaḥ kena tarkaḥ pravartate || 86 ||

kriyā pravartate kena gamanaṃ brūhi me katham |

saṃjñāyāśchedanaṃ kena samādhiḥ kena cocyate ||87 ||

vidārtha tribhavaṃ ko'sau kiṃ sthānaṃ kā tanurbhavet |

asatyātmakathā kena saṃvṛtyā deśanā katham || 88 ||

lakṣaṇaṃ pṛcchase kena nairātmyaṃ pṛcchase katham |

garbhā naiyāyikāḥ kena pṛcchase māṃ jinaurasāḥ || 89 ||

śāśvatocchedadṛṣṭiśca kena cittaṃ sabhādhyate |

abhilāpastathā jñānaṃ śīlaṃ gotraṃ jinaurasāḥ || 90 ||

yuktavyākhyā guruśiṣyaḥ sattvānāṃ citratā katham |

annapānaṃ nabho meghā mārāḥ prajñaptimātrakam || 91 ||

taruvallyaḥ kathaṃ kena pṛcchase māṃ jinaurasa |

kṣetrāṇi citratā kena ṛṣirdīrghatapāstathā || 92 ||

vaṃśaḥ kaste guruḥ kena pṛcchase māṃ jinaurasa |

uhoḍimā narā yoge kāmadhātau na budhyase || 93 ||

siddhānto hyakaniṣṭheṣu yuktiṃ pṛcchasi me katham |

abhijñāṃ laukikāṃ kena kathaṃ bhikṣutvameva ca || 94 ||

nairmāṇikān vipākasthān buddhān pṛcchasi me katham |

tathatājñānabuddhā vai saṃghāścaiva kathaṃ bhavet || 95 ||

vīṇāpaṇavapuṣpābhāḥ kṣetrā lokavivarjitāḥ |

cittaṃ hi bhūmayaḥ sapta pṛcchase māṃ jinaurasa |

etāṃścānyāṃśca subahūn praśnān pṛcchasi māṃ suta || 96 ||

ekaikaṃ lakṣaṇairyuktaṃ dṛṣṭidoṣavivarjitam |

siddhāntaṃ deśanāṃ vakṣye sahasā tvaṃ śṛṇohi me || 97 ||

upanyāsaṃ kariṣyāmi padānāṃ śṛṇu me suta |

aṣṭottaraṃ padaśataṃ yathā buddhānuvarṇitam || 98 ||

atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ punarapi bhagavantametadavocat-katividho bhagavan vijñānānāmutpādasthitinirodho bhavati ? bhagavānāha-dvividho mahāmate vijñānānāmutpattisthitinirodho bhavati, na ca tārkikā avabudhyante yaduta prabandhanirodho lakṣaṇanirodhaśca | dvividha utpādo vijñānānām, prabandhotpado lakṣaṇotpādaśca | dvividhā sthitiḥ prabandhasthitirlakṣaṇasthitiśca | trividhaṃ vijñānaṃ pravṛttilakṣaṇaṃ karmalakṣaṇaṃ jātilakṣaṇaṃ ca | dvividhaṃ mahāmate vijñānaṃ saṃkṣepeṇa aṣṭalakṣaṇoktaṃ khyātivijñānaṃ vastuprativikalpavijñānaṃ ca | yathā mahāmate darpaṇasya rūpagrahaṇam, evaṃ khyātivijñānasyākhyāsyati | khyātivijñānaṃ ca mahāmate vastuprativikalpavijñānaṃ ca | dve'pyete'bhinnalakṣaṇe'nyonyahetuke | tatra khyātivijñānaṃ mahāmate acintyavāsanāpariṇāmahetukam | vastuprativikalpavijñānaṃ ca mahāmate viṣayavikalpahetukamanādikālaprapañcavāsanāhetukaṃ ca ||



tatra sarvendriyavijñānanirodho mahāmate yaduta ālayavijñānasya abhūtaparikalpavāsanāvaicitryanirodhaḥ | eṣa hi mahāmate lakṣaṇanirodhaḥ | prabandhanirodhaḥ punarmahāmate yasmācca pravartate | yasmāditi mahāmate yadāśrayeṇa yadālambanena ca | tatra yadāśrayamanādikālaprapañcadauṣṭhulyavāsanā yadālambanaṃ svacittadṛśyavijñānaviṣaye vikalpāḥ | tadyathā mahāmate mṛtparamāṇubhyo mṛtpiṇḍaḥ, na cānyo nānanyaḥ, tathā suvarṇaṃ bhūṣaṇāt | yadi ca mahāmate mṛtpiṇḍo mṛtparamāṇubhyo'nyaḥ syāt, tairnārabdhaḥ syāt | sa cārabdhastairmṛtparamāṇubhiḥ, tasmānnānyaḥ | athānanyaḥ syāt, mṛtpiṇḍaparamāṇvoḥ pratibhāgo na syāt | evameva mahāmate pravṛttivijñānānyālayavijñānajātilakṣaṇādanyāni syuḥ, anālayavijñānahetukāni syuḥ | athānanyāni pravṛttivijñānanirodhe ālayavijñānavirodhaḥ syāt, sa ca na bhavati svajātilakṣaṇanirodhaḥ | tasmānmahāmate na svajātilakṣaṇanirodho vijñānānāṃ kiṃ tu karmalakṣaṇanirodhaḥ | svajātilakṣaṇe punarnirudhyamāne ālayavijñānanirodhaḥ syāt | ālayavijñāne punarnirudhyamāne nirviśiṣṭastīrthakarocchedavādenāyaṃ vādaḥ syāt | tīrthakarāṇāṃ mahāmate ayaṃ vādo yaduta viṣayagrahaṇoparamādvijñānaprabandhoparamo bhavati | vijñānaprabandhoparamādanādikālaprabandhavyucchittiḥ syāt | kāraṇataśca mahāmate tīrthakarāḥ prabandhapravṛttiṃ varṇayanti | na cakṣurvijñānasya rūpālokasamudayata utpattiṃ varṇayanti anyatra kāraṇataḥ | kāraṇaṃ punarmahāmate pradhānapuruṣeśvarakālāṇupravādāḥ ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate saptavidho bhāvasvabhāvo bhavati yaduta samudayasvabhāvo bhāvasvabhāvo lakṣaṇasvabhāvo mahābhūtasvabhāvo hetusvabhāvaḥ pratyayasvabhāvo niṣpattisvabhāvaśca saptamaḥ ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate saptavidhaḥ paramārtho yaduta cittagocaro jñānagocaraḥ prajñāgocaro dṛṣṭidvayagocaro dṛṣṭidvayātikrāntagocaraḥ sutabhūmyanukramaṇagocarastathāgatasya pratyātmagatigocaraḥ ||



etanmahāmate atītānāgatapratyutpannānāṃ tathāgatānāmarhatāṃ samyaksaṃbuddhānāṃ bhāvasvabhāvaparamārthahṛdayaṃ yena samanvāgatāstathāgatā laukikalokottaratamān dharmānāryeṇa prajñācakṣuṣā svasāmānyalakṣaṇapatitān vyavasthāpayanti | tathā ca vyavasthāpayanti yathā tīrthakaravādakudṛṣṭisādhāraṇā na bhavanti | kathaṃ ca mahāmate tīrthakaravādakudṛṣṭisādhāraṇā bhavanti ? yaduta svacittaviṣayavikalpadṛṣṭyanavabodhanādvijñānānām | svacittadṛśyamātrānavatāreṇa mahāmate bālapṛthagjanā bhāvābhāvasvabhāvaparamārthadṛṣṭidvayavādino bhavanti ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate vikalpabhavatrayaduḥkhavinivartanamajñānatṛṣṇākarmapratyayavinivṛttiṃ svacittadṛśyamāyāviṣayānudarśanaṃ bhāṣiṣye | ye kecinmahāmate śramaṇā vā brāhmaṇā vā abhūtvā śraddhāhetuphalābhivyaktidravyaṃ ca kālāvasthitaṃ pratyayeṣu ca skandhadhātvāyatanānāmutpādasthitiṃ cecchanti, bhūtvā ca vyayam, te mahāmate saṃtatikriyotpādabhaṅgabhavanirvāṇamārgakarmaphalasatyavināśocchedavādino bhavanti | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yadidaṃ pratyakṣānupalabdherādyadarśanābhāvāt | tadyathā mahāmate ghaṭakapālābhāvo ghaṭakṛtyaṃ na karoti, nāpi dagdhabījamaṅkurakṛtyaṃ karoti, evameva mahāmate ye skandhadhātvāyatanabhāvā niruddhā nirudhyante nirotsyante, svacittadṛśyavikalpadarśanāhetutvānnāsti nairantaryapravṛttiḥ ||



yadi punarmahāmate abhūtvā śraddhāvijñānānāṃ trisaṃgatipratyayakriyāyogenotpattirabhaviṣyat, asatāmapi mahāmate kūrmaromnāmutpattirabhaviṣyat, sikatābhyo vā tailasya | pratijñāhānirniyamanirodhaśca mahāmate prasajyate, kriyākarmakaraṇavaiyarthyaṃ ca sadasato bruvataḥ | teṣāmapi mahāmate trisaṃgatipratyayakriyāyogenopadeśo vidyate hetuphalasvalakṣaṇatayā atītānāgatapratyutpannāsatsallakṣaṇāstitāṃ yuktyāgamaistarkabhūmau vartamānāḥ svadṛṣṭidoṣavāsanatayā nirdekṣyanti | evameva mahāmate bālapṛthagjanāḥ kudṛṣṭidaṣṭā viṣamamatayo'jñaiḥ praṇītaṃ sarvapraṇītamiti vakṣyanti ||



ye punaranye mahāmate śramaṇā vā brāhmaṇā vā niḥsvabhāvaghanālātacakragandharvanagarānutpāda-

māyāmarīcyudakacandrasvapnasvabhāvabāhyacittadṛśya-vikalpānādikālaprapañcadarśanena svacittavikalpapratyayavinivṛttirahitāḥ parikalpitābhidhānalakṣyalakṣaṇābhidheyarahitā dehabhogapratiṣṭhāsamālayavijñānaviṣayagrāhyagrāhakavisaṃyuktaṃ nirābhāsagocaramutpādasthitibhaṅgavarjyaṃ svacittotpādānugataṃ vibhāvayiṣyanti, nacirātte mahāmate bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ saṃsāranirvāṇasamatāprāptā bhaviṣyanti | mahākaruṇopāyakauśalyānābhogagatena mahāmate prayogena sarvasattvamāyāpratibimbasamatayā anārabdhapratyayatayā adhyātmabāhyaviṣayavimuktatayā cittabāhyādarśanatayā animittādhiṣṭhānānugatā anupūrveṇa bhūmikramasamādhiviṣayānugamanatayā traidhātukasvacittatayā adhimuktitaḥ prativibhāvayamānā māyopamasamādhiṃ pratilabhante | svacittanirābhāsamātrāvatāreṇa prajñāpāramitāvihārānuprāptā utpādakriyāyogavirahitāḥ samādhivajrabimbopamaṃ tathāgatakāyānugataṃ tathatānirmāṇānugataṃ balābhijñāvaśitākṛpākaruṇopāyamaṇḍitaṃ sarvabuddhakṣetratīrthyāyatanopagataṃ cittamanomanovijñānarahitaṃ parāvṛttyānuśrayānupūrvakaṃ tathāgatakāyaṃ mahāmate te bodhisattvāḥ pratilapsyante | tasmāttarhi mahāmate bodhisattvairmahāsattvaistathāgatakāyānugamena pratilābhinā skandhadhātvāyatanacittahetupratyayakriyāyogotpādasthitibhaṅgavikalpaprapañcarahitairbhavitavyaṃ cittamātrānusāribhiḥ ||



anādikālāprapañcadauṣṭhulyavikalpavāsanahetukaṃ tribhavaṃ paśyato nirābhāsabuddhabhūmyanutpādasmaraṇatayā pratyātmāryadharmagatiṃgataḥ svacittavaśavartī anābhogacaryāgatiṃgato viśvarūpamaṇisadṛśaḥ sūkṣmaiḥ sattvacittānupraveśakairnirmāṇavigrahaiścittamātrāvadhāraṇatayā bhūmikramānusaṃghau pratiṣṭhāpayati | tasmāttarhi mahāmate bodhisattvena mahāsattvena svasiddhāntakuśalena bhavitavyam ||



punarapi mahāmatirāha-deśayatu me bhagavān cittamanomanovijñānapañcadharmasvabhāvalakṣaṇakusumadharmaparyāyaṃ buddhabodhisattvānuyātaṃ svacittadṛśyagocaravisaṃyojanaṃ sarvabhāṣyayuktitattvalakṣaṇavidāraṇaṃ sarvabuddhapravacanahṛdayaṃ laṅkāpurigirimalaye nivāsino bodhisattvānārabhyodadhitaraṃgālayavijñānagocaraṃ dharmakāyaṃ tathāgatānugītaṃ prabhāṣasva ||



atha khalu bhagavān punareva mahāmatiṃ bodhisattvaṃ mahāsattvametadavocat-caturbhirmahāmate kāraṇaiścakṣurvijñānaṃ pravartate | katamaiścaturbhiḥ ? yaduta svacittadṛśyagrahaṇānavabodhato'nādikālaprapañcadauṣṭhulyarūpavāsanābhiniveśato vijñānaprakṛtisvabhāvato vicitrarūpalakṣaṇakautūhalataḥ | ebhirmahāmate caturbhiḥ kāraṇairoghāntarajalasthānīyādālayavijñānātpravṛttivijñānataraṃgautpadyate | yathā mahāmate cakṣurvijñāne, evaṃ sarvandriyaparamāṇuromakūpeṣu yugapatpravṛttikramaviṣayādarśabimbadarśanavat udadheḥ pavanāhatā iva mahāmate viṣayapavanacittodadhitaraṃgā avyucchinnahetukriyālakṣaṇā anyonyavinirmuktāḥ karmajātilakṣaṇasuvinibaddharūpasvabhāvānavadhāriṇo mahāmate pañca vijñānakāyāḥ pravartante | saha taireva mahāmate pañcabhirvijñānakāyairhetuviṣayaparicchedalakṣaṇāvadhārakaṃ nāma manovijñānaṃ taddhetujaśarīraṃ pravartate | na ca teṣāṃ tasya caivaṃ bhavati-vayamatrānyonyahetukāḥ svacittadṛśyavikalpābhiniveśapravṛttā iti ||



atha ca anyonyābhinnalakṣaṇasahitāḥ pravartante vijñaptiviṣayaparicchede | tathā ca pravartamānāḥ pravartante yathā samāpannasyāpi yoginaḥ sūkṣmagativāsanāpravṛttā na prajñāyante | yogināṃ caivaṃ bhavati-nirodhya vijñānāni samāpatsyāmahe iti | te cāniruddhaireva vijñānaiḥ samāpadyante vāsanābījānirodhādaniruddhāḥ, viṣayapravṛttagrahaṇavaikalyānniruddhāḥ | evaṃ sūkṣmo mahāmate ālayavijñānagatipracāro yattathāgataṃ sthāpayitvā bhūmipratiṣṭhitāṃśca bodhisattvān, na sukaramanyaiḥ śrāvakapratyekabuddhatīrthyayogayogibhiradhigantuṃ samādhiprajñābalādhānato'pi vā paricchettum | anyatra bhūmilakṣaṇaprajñājñānakauśalapadaprabhedaviniścayajinānantakuśalamūlopacayasvacittadṛśya-vikalpaprapañcavirahitairvanagahanaguhālayāntargatairmahāmate hīnotkṛṣṭamadhyamayogayogibhirna śakyaṃ svacittavikalpadṛśyadhārādraṣṭranantakṣetrajinābhiṣekavaśitābalābhijñāsamādhayaḥ prāptum | kalyāṇamitrajinapuraskṛtairmahāmate śakyaṃ cittamanovijñānaṃ svacittadṛśyasvabhāvagocaravikalpasaṃsārabhavodadhiṃ karmatṛṣṇājñānahetukaṃ tartum | ata etasmātkāraṇānmahāmate yoginā kalyāṇamitrajinayoge yogaḥ prārabdhavyaḥ ||



atha khalu bhagavāṃstasyāṃ velāyāmimā gāthā abhāṣata -

taraṃgā hyudadheryadvatpavanapratyayeritāḥ |

nṛtyamānāḥ pravartante vyucchedaśca na vidyate || 99 ||

ālayaughastathā nityaṃ viṣayapavaneritaḥ |

citraistaraṃgavijñānairnṛtyamānaḥ pravartate || 100 ||

nīle rakte'tha lavaṇe śaṅkhe kṣīre ca śārkare |

kaṣāyaiḥ phalapuṣpādyaiḥ kiraṇā yatha bhāskare || 101 ||

na cānyena ca nānanyena taraṃgā hyudadhermatāḥ |

vijñānāni tathā sapta cittena saha saṃyutāḥ || 102 ||

udadheḥ pariṇāmo'sau taraṃgāṇāṃ vicitratā |

ālayaṃ hi tathā citraṃ vijñānākhyaṃ pravartate || 103 ||

cittaṃ manaśca vijñānaṃ lakṣaṇārthaṃ prakalpyate |

abhinnalakṣaṇā hyaṣṭau na lakṣyā na ca lakṣaṇam || 104 ||

udadheśca taraṃgāṇāṃ yathā nāsti viśeṣaṇam |

vijñānānāṃ tathā cittaiḥ pariṇāmo na labhyate || 105 ||

cittena cīyate karma manasā ca vicīyate |

vijñānena vijānāti dṛśyaṃ kalpeti pañcabhiḥ || 106 ||

nīlaraktaprakāraṃ hi vijñānaṃ khyāyate nṛṇām |

taraṃgacittasādharmyaṃ vada kasmānmahāmate || 107 ||

nīlaraktaprakāraṃ hi taraṃgeṣu na vidyate |

vṛttiśca varṇyate cittaṃ lakṣaṇārthaṃ hi bāliśān || 108 ||

na tasya vidyate vṛttiḥ svacittaṃ grāhyavarjitam |

grāhye sati hi vai grāhastaraṃgaiḥ saha sādhyate || 109 ||

dehabhogapratiṣṭhānaṃ vijñānaṃ khyāyate nṛṇām |

tenāsya dṛśyate vṛttistaraṃgaiḥ saha sādṛśā || 110 ||

udadhistaraṃgabhāvena nṛtyamāno vibhāvyate |

ālayasya tathā vṛttiḥ kasmādbuddhyā na gamyate || 111 ||

bālānāṃ buddhivaikalyādālayaṃ hyudadhiryathā |

taraṃgavṛttisādharmyaṃ dṛṣṭāntenopanīyate || 112 ||

udeti bhāskaro yadvatsamahīnottame jine |

tathā tvaṃ lokapradyota tattvaṃ deśesi bāliśān || 113 ||

kṛtvā dharmeṣvavasthānaṃ kasmāttattvaṃ na bhāṣase |

bhāṣase yadi vā tattvaṃ citte tattvaṃ na vidyate || 114 ||

udadheryathā taraṃgā hi darpaṇe supine yathā |

dṛśyanti yugapatkāle tathā cittaṃ svagocare || 115 ||

vaikalyādviṣayāṇāṃ hi kramavṛttyā pravartate |

vijñānena vijānāti manasā manyate punaḥ || 116 ||

pañcānāṃ khyāyate dṛśyaṃ kramo nāsti samāhite |

citrācāryo yathā kaściccitrāntevāsiko'pi vā |

citrārthe nāmayedraṅgān deśayāmi tathā hyaham || 117 ||

raṅge na vidyate citraṃ na bhūmau na ca bhājane |

sattvānāṃ karṣaṇārthāya raṅgaiścitraṃ vikalpyate |

deśanā vyabhicāraṃ ca tattvaṃ hyakṣaravarjitam || 118 ||

kṛtvā dharmeṣvavasthānaṃ tattvaṃ deśemi yoginām |

tattvaṃ pratyātmagatikaṃ kalpyakalpena varjitam |

deśemi jinaputrāṇāṃ neyaṃ bālāna deśanā || 119 ||

vicitrā hi yathā māyā dṛśyate na ca vidyate |

deśanāpi tathā citrā deśyate'vyabhicāriṇī |

deśanā hi yadanyasya tadanyasyāpyadeśanā || 120 ||

āture āture yadvadbhiṣadragvyaṃ prayacchati |

buddhā hi tadvatsattvānāṃ cittamātraṃ vadanti vai || 121 ||

tārkikāṇāmaviṣayaṃ śrāvakāṇāṃ na caiva hi |

yaṃ deśayanti vai nāthāḥ pratyātmagatigocaram || 122 ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate bodhisattvena svacittadṛśyagrāhyagrāhakavikalpagocaraṃ parijñātukāmena saṃgaṇikāasaṃsargamiddhanivaraṇavigatena bhavitavyam | prathamamadhyamapaścādrātrajāgarikāyoganuyuktena bhavitavyam | kutīrthyaśāstrākhyāyikāśrāvakapratyekabuddhayānalakṣaṇavirahitena ca bhavitavyam | svacittadṛśyavikalpalakṣaṇagatiṃgatena ca bhavitavyaṃ bodhisattvena mahāsattvena ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate bodhisattvena mahāsattvena cittavijñānaprajñālakṣaṇavyavasthāyāṃ sthitvā upariṣṭādāryajñānalakṣaṇatrayayogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ | tatropariṣṭādāryajñānalakṣaṇatrayaṃ mahāmate katamat ? yaduta nirābhāsalakṣaṇaṃ sarvabuddhasvapraṇidhānādhiṣṭhānalakṣaṇaṃ pratyātmāryajñānagatilakṣaṇaṃ ca | yānyadhigamya yogī khañjagardabha iva cittaprajñājñānalakṣaṇaṃ hitvā jinasutāṣṭamīṃ prāpya bhūmiṃ taduttare lakṣaṇatraye yogamāpadyate ||



tatra nirābhāsalakṣaṇaṃ punarmahāmate sarvaśrāvakapratyekabuddhatīrthalakṣaṇaparicayātpravartate | adhiṣṭhānalakṣaṇaṃ punarmahāmate pūrvabuddhasvapraṇidhānādhiṣṭhānataḥ pravartate | pratyātmāryajñānagatilakṣaṇaṃ punarmahāmate sarvadharmalakṣaṇānabhiniveśato māyopamasamādhikāyapratilambhādbuddhabhūmigatigamanapracārāt pravartate | etanmahāmate āryāṇāṃ lakṣaṇatrayaṃ yenāryeṇa lakṣatrayeṇa samanvāgatā āryāḥ svapratyātmāryajñānagatigocaramadhigacchanti | tasmāttarhi mahāmate āryajñānalakṣaṇatrayayogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ ||



atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ punareva tasyā bodhisattvaparṣadaścittāśayavicāramājñāya āryajñānavastupravicayaṃ nāma dharmaparyāyaṃ sarvabuddhādhiṣṭhānādhiṣṭhito bhagavantaṃ paripṛcchati sma-deśayatu me bhagavānāryajñānavastupravicayaṃ nāma dharmaparyāyamaṣṭottarapadaśataprabhedāśrayam, yamāśritya tathāgatā arhantaḥ samyaksaṃbuddhā bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāṃ svasāmānyalakṣaṇapatitānāṃ parikalpitasvabhāvagatiprabhedaṃ deśayanti, yena parikalpitasvabhāvagatiprabhedena suprativibhāgaviddhena pudgaladharmanairātmyapracāraṃ prativiśodhya bhūmiṣu kṛtavidyāḥ sarvaśrāvakapratyekabuddhatīrthakaradhyānasamādhisamāpattisukhamatikramya tathāgatācintyaviṣayapracāragatipracāraṃ pañcadharmasvabhāvagativinivṛttaṃ tathāgataṃ dharmakāyaṃ prajñājñānasunibaddhadharmaṃ māyāviṣayābhinivṛttaṃ sarvabuddhakṣetratuṣitabhavanākaniṣṭhālayopagaṃ tathāgatakāyaṃ pratilabheran ||



bhagavānāha-iha mahāmate eke tīrthyātīrthyadṛṣṭayo nāstitvābhiniviṣṭā vikalpabuddhihetukṣayasvabhāvābhāvānnāsti śaśasya viṣāṇaṃ vikalpayanti | yathā śaśaviṣāṇaṃ nāsti, evaṃ sarvadharmāḥ | anye punarmahāmate bhūtaguṇāṇudravyasaṃsthānasaṃniveśaviśeṣaṃ dṛṣṭvā nāstiśaśaśṛṅgābhiniveśābhiniviṣṭā asti gośṛṅgamiti kalpayanti | te mahāmate antadvayadṛṣṭipatitāścittamātrānavadhāritamatayaḥ | svacittadhātuvikalpena te puṣṇanti | dehabhogapratiṣṭhāgativikalpamātre mahāmate śaśaśṛṅgaṃ nāstyastivinivṛttaṃ na kalpayettathā mahāmate sarvabhāvānāṃ nāstyastivinivṛttaṃ na kalpayitavyam ||



ye punarmahāmate nāstyastivinivṛttā nāsti śaśaśṛṅgaṃ na kalpayanti, tairanyonyāpekṣahetutvānnāsti śaśaviṣāṇamiti na kalpayitavyam | āparamāṇupravicayādvastvanupalabdhabhāvānmahāmate āryajñānagocaravinivṛttamasti gośṛṅgamiti na kalpayitavyam ||



atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvo bhagavantametadavocat-nanu bhagavan vikalpasyāpravṛttilakṣaṇaṃ dṛṣṭvā anumimīmahe vikalpāpravṛttyapekṣaṃ tasya nāstitvam | bhagavānāha- na hi mahāmate vikalpāpravṛttyapekṣaṃ tasya nāstitvam | tatkasya hetoḥ ? vikalpasya tatpravṛttihetutvāt | tadviṣāṇāśrayapravṛtto hi mahāmate vikalpaḥ | yasmādviṣāṇāśrayapravṛtto mahāmate vikalpaḥ, tasmādāśrayahetutvādanyānanyavivarjitatvānna hi tadapekṣaṃ nāstitvaṃ śaśaviṣāṇasya | yadi punarmahāmate vikalpo'nyaḥ syācchaśaviṣāṇādaviṣāṇahetukaḥ syāt | athānanyaḥ syāt, taddhetukatvādāparamāṇupravicayānupalabdherviṣāṇādananyatvāttadabhāvaḥ syāt | tadubhayabhāvābhāvātkasya kimapekṣya nāstitvaṃ bhavati ? atha na bhavati mahāmate apekṣya nāstitvaṃ śaśaviṣāṇasya astitvamapekṣya nāstitvaṃ śaśaviṣāṇaṃ na kalpayitavyaṃ viṣamahetutvānmahāmate nāstyastitvam siddhirna bhavati nāstyastitvavādinām | anye punarmahāmate tīrthakaradṛṣṭayo rūpakāraṇasaṃsthānābhiniveśābhiniviṣṭā ākāśabhāvāparicchedakuśalā rūpamākāśabhāvavigataṃ paricchedaṃ dṛṣṭvā vikalpayanti | ākāśameva ca mahāmate rūpam | rūpabhūtānupraveśānmahāmate rūpamevākāśam | ādheyādhāravyayasthānabhāvena mahāmate rūpākāśakāraṇayoḥ pravibhāgaḥ pratyetavyaḥ | bhūtāni mahāmate pravartamānāni parasparasvalakṣaṇabhedabhinnāni ākāśe cāpratiṣṭhitāni | na ca teṣvākāśaṃ nāsti | evameva śaśasya viṣāṇaṃ mahāmate goviṣāṇamapekṣya bhavati | goviṣāṇaṃ punarmahāmate aṇuśo vibhajyamānaṃ punarapyaṇavo vibhajyamānā aṇutvalakṣaṇe nāvatiṣṭhante | tasya kimapekṣya nāstitvaṃ bhavati ? athānyadapekṣya vastu, tadapyevaṃdharmi ||



atha khalu bhagavān punarapi mahāmatiṃ bodhisattvaṃ mahāsattvametadavocat-śaśagośṛṅgākāśarūpapadṛṣṭivikalpavigatena mahāmate bhavitavyam, tadanyaiśca bodhisattvaiḥ || svacittadṛśyavikalpānugamamanasā ca mahāmate bhavitavyam | sarvajinasutakṣetramaṇḍale ca tvayā svacittadṛśyayogopadeśaḥ karaṇīyaḥ ||

atha khalu bhagavāṃstasyāṃ velāyāmimā gāthā abhāṣata -

dṛśyaṃ na vidyate cittaṃ cittaṃ dṛśyātpravartate |

devabhogapratiṣṭhānamālayaṃ khyāyate nṛṇām || 123 ||

cittaṃ manaśca vijñānaṃ svabhāvaṃ dharmapañcakam |

nairātmyaṃ dvitayaṃ śuddhaṃ prabhāṣante vināyakāḥ || 124 ||

dīrghahrasvādisaṃbandhamanyonyataḥ pravartate |

astitvasādhakaṃ nāsti asti nāstitvasādhakam || 125 ||

aṇuśo bhajyamānaṃ hi naiva rūpaṃ vikalpayet |

cittamātraṃ vyavasthānaṃ kudṛṣṭyā na prasīdati || 126 ||

tārkikāṇāmaviṣayaḥ śrāvakāṇāṃ na caiva hi |

yaṃ deśayanti vai nāthāḥ pratyātmagatigocaram || 127 ||



atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ punarapi svacittadṛśyadhārāviśuddhyarthaṃ bhagavantamadhyeṣate sma-kathaṃ bhagavan svacittadṛśyadhārā viśudhyati yugapatkramavṛttyā vā ? bhagavānāha-kramavṛttyā mahāmate svacittadṛśyadhārā viśudhyati na yugapat | tadyathā mahāmate āmraphalāni kramaśaḥ pacyante na yugapat, evameva mahāmate svacittadṛśyadhārā sattvānāṃ kramaśo viśudhyati na yugapat | tadyathā mahāmate kumbhakāraḥ kramaśo bhāṇḍāni kurute na yugapat, evameva mahāmate tathāgataḥ sattvānāṃ svacittadṛśyadhārāṃ kramaśo viśodhayati na yugapat | tadyathā mahāmate pṛthivyāṃ tṛṇagulmauṣadhivanaspatayaḥ kramavṛttyā virohanti na yugapat, evameva mahāmate sattvānāṃ tathāgataḥ kramaśaḥ svacittadṛśyadhārāṃ viśodhayati na yugapat | tadyathā mahāmate hāsyalāsyagītavāditravīṇālekhyayogyāḥ kramaśaḥ pravartante na yugapat, evemeva mahāmate tathāgataḥ sarvasattvānāṃ kramaśaḥ svacittadṛśyadhārāṃ viśodhayati na yugapat | tadyathā mahāmate darpaṇāntargatāḥ sarvarūpāvabhāsāḥ saṃdṛśyante nirvikalpā yugapat, evameva mahāmate svacittadṛśyadhārāṃ yugapattathāgataḥ sarvasattvānāṃ viśodhayati nirvikalpāṃ nirābhāsagocarām | tadyathā mahāmate somādityamaṇḍalaṃ yugapatsarvarūpāvabhāsān kiraṇaiḥ prakāśayati, evameva mahāmate tathāgataḥ svacittadṛśyadauṣṭhulyavāsanāvigatānāṃ sattvānāṃ yugapadacintyajñānajinagocaraviṣayaṃ saṃdarśayati | tadyathā mahāmate ālayavijñānaṃ svacittadṛśyadehapratiṣṭhābhogaviṣayaṃ yugapadvibhāvayati, evameva mahāmate niṣyandabuddho yugapatsattvagocaraṃ paripācya ākaniṣṭhabhavanavimānālayayogaṃ yogināmarpayati | tadyathā mahāmate dharmatābuddho yugapanniṣyandanirmāṇakiraṇairvirājate, evameva mahāmate pratyātmāryagatidharmalakṣaṇaṃ bhāvābhāvakudṛṣṭivinivartanatayā yugapadvirājate ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate dharmatāniṣyandabuddhaḥ svasāmānyalakṣaṇapatitātsarvadharmātsvacittadṛśyavāsanāhetulakṣaṇopanibaddhātparikalpita-svabhāvābhiniveśahetukānatadātmakavividhamāyāraṅgapuruṣavaicitryābhiniveśānupalabdhito mahāmate deśayati | punaraparaṃ mahāmate parikalpitasvabhāvavṛttilakṣaṇaṃ paratantrasvabhāvābhiniveśataḥ pravartate | tadyathā tṛṇakāṣṭhagulmalatāśrayānmāyāvidyāpuruṣasaṃyogātsarvasattvarūpadhāriṇaṃ māyāpuruṣavigrahamabhiniṣpannaikasattvaśarīraṃ vividhakalpavikalpitaṃ khyāyate, tathā khyāyannapi mahāmate tadātmako na bhavati, evameva mahāmate paratantrasvabhāve parikalpitasvabhāve vividhavikalpacittavicitralakṣaṇaṃ khyāyate | vastuparikalpalakṣaṇābhiniveśavāsanātparikalpayan mahāmate parikalpitasvabhāvalakṣaṇaṃ bhavati | eṣā mahāmate niṣyandabuddhadeśanā | dharmatābuddhaḥ punarmahāmate cittasvabhāvalakṣaṇavisaṃyuktāṃ pratyātmāryagatigocaravyavasthāṃ karoti | nirmitanirmāṇabuddhaḥ punarmahāmate dānaśīladhyānasamādhicitraprajñājñānaskandhadhātvāyatanavimokṣavijñānagatilakṣaṇaprabhedapracāraṃ vyavasthāpayati | tīrthyadṛṣṭyā ca rūpyasamatikramaṇalakṣaṇaṃ deśayati | dharmatābuddhaḥ punarmahāmate nirālambaḥ | ālambavigataṃ sarvakriyendriyapramāṇalakṣaṇavinivṛttamaviṣayaṃ bālaśrāvakapratyekabuddhatīrthakarātmakalakṣaṇābhiniveśābhiniviṣṭānām | tasmāttarhi mahāmate pratyātmāryagativiśeṣalakṣaṇe yogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ | svacittalakṣaṇadṛśyavinivṛttidṛṣṭinā ca te bhavitavyam ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate dvividhaṃ śrāvakayānanayaprabhedalakṣaṇaṃ yaduta pratyātmāryādhigamaviśeṣalakṣaṇaṃ ca bhāvavikalpasvabhāvābhiniveśalakṣaṇaṃ ca | tatra mahāmate pratyātmāryādhigamaviśeṣalakṣaṇaṃ śrāvakāṇāṃ katamat ? yaduta śūnyatānātmaduḥkhānityaviṣayasatyavairāgyopaśamātskandhadhātvāyatanasvasāmānya-lakṣaṇabāhyārthavināśalakṣaṇādyathābhūtaparijñānāccittaṃ samādhīyate | svacittaṃ samādhāya dhyānavimokṣasamādhimārgaphalasamāpattivimuktivāsanācintyapariṇaticyutivigataṃ pratyātmāryagatilakṣaṇasukhavihāraṃ mahāmate adhigacchanti śrāvakāḥ | etanmahāmate śrāvakāṇāṃ pratyātmāryagatilakṣaṇam | etaddhi mahāmate śrāvakāṇāṃ pratyātmāryādhigamavihārasukhamadhigamya bodhisattvena mahāsattvena nirodhasukhaṃ samāpattisukhaṃ ca sattvakriyāpekṣayā pūrvasvapraṇidhānābhinirhṛtatayā ca na sākṣātkaraṇīyam | etanmahāmate śrāvakāṇāṃ pratyātmāryagatilakṣaṇasukhaṃ yatra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena pratyātmāryagatilakṣaṇasukhe na śikṣitavyam | bhāvavikalpasvabhāvābhiniveśaḥ punarmahāmate śrāvakāṇāṃ katamaḥ? yaduta nīlapītoṣṇadravacalakaṭhināni mahābhūtānyakriyāpravṛttāni svasāmānyalakṣaṇayuktyāgamapramāṇasuvinibaddhāni dṛṣṭvā tatsvabhāvābhiniveśavikalpaḥ pravartate | etanmahāmate bodhisattvenādhigamya vyāvartayitavyam | dharmanairātmyalakṣaṇānupraveśatayā pudgalanairātmyalakṣaṇadṛṣṭiṃ nivārya bhūmikramānusaṃghau pratiṣṭhāpayitavyam | etanmahāmate śrāvakāṇāṃ bhāvavikalpasvabhāvābhiniveśalakṣaṇaṃ yaduktam, idaṃ tatpratyuktam ||



atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvo bhagavantametadavocat-nityamacintyaṃ ca bhagavatā pratyātmāryagatigocaraṃ paramārthagocaraṃ ca prabhāṣitam | nanu bhagavaṃstīrthakarā api nityācintyavādinaḥ kāraṇānām ? bhagavānāha-na mahāmate tīrthakarāṇāṃ kāraṇasya nityācintyatāṃ prāpnoti | tatkasya hetoḥ ? tīrthakarāṇāṃ mahāmate nityācintyaṃ na hetusvalakṣaṇayuktam | yasya mahāmate nityācintyaṃ na hetusvalakṣaṇayuktam, tatkathaṃ kenābhivyajyate nityamacintyamiti? nityācintyavādaḥ punarmahāmate yadi hetusvalakṣaṇayuktaḥ syāt, nityaṃ kāraṇādhīnahetulakṣaṇatvānnityamacintyaṃ na bhavati | mama tu mahāmate paramārthanityācintyaṃ paramārthalakṣaṇahetuyuktaṃ bhāvābhāvavigataṃ pratyātmāryādhigamalakṣaṇatvāllakṣaṇavatparamārthajñānahetutvācca hetumadbhāvābhāvavigatatvādakṛtakākāśanirvāṇanirodhadṛṣṭāntasādharmyānnityam | ata etanmahāmate tīrthakaranityācintyavādatulyaṃ na bhavati | nityācintyataiveyaṃ mahāmate tathāgatānāṃ pratyātmāryajñānādhigamatathatā | tasmāttarhi mahāmate bodhisattvena mahāsattvena nityācintyapratyātmāryajñānādhigamāya yogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate nityācintyatā tīrthakarāṇāmanityabhāvavilakṣaṇahetutvāt | na svakṛtahetulakṣaṇaprabhāvitatvānnityam | yadi punarmahāmate tīrthakarāṇāṃ nityācintyatā kṛtakabhāvābhāvādanityatāṃ dṛṣṭvā anumānabuddhyā nityaṃ samāpyate, tenaiva hetunā mamāpi mahāmate kṛtakabhāvābhāvādanityatāṃ dṛṣṭvā nityamahetūpadeśāt ||



yadi punarmahāmate hetulakṣaṇasaṃyuktaṃ nityācintyatā, tīrthakarāṇāṃ hetubhāvasvalakṣaṇabhāvābhāvācchaśaviṣāṇatulyā mahāmate nityācintyatā, vāgvikalpamātrā ca mahāmate tīrthakarāṇāṃ prasajyate | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaduta vāgvikalpamātraṃ hi mahāmate śaśaviṣāṇaṃ svahetulakṣaṇābhāvāt | mama tu mahāmate nityācintyatā pratyātmāryādhigamalakṣaṇahetutvātkṛtakabhāvābhāvavarjitatvānnityam, na bāhyabhāvābhāvanityānityānupramāṇānnityam | yasya punarmahāmate bāhyābhāvānnityānumānānnityācintyatvānnityam, tasyā nityācintyatāyāḥ svahetulakṣaṇaṃ na jānīte | pratyātmādhigamāryajñānagocaralakṣaṇaṃ bahirdhā te mahāmate asaṃkathyāḥ ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate saṃsāravikalpaduḥkhabhayabhītā nirvāṇamanveṣante | saṃsāranirvāṇayoraviśeṣajñāḥ sarvabhāvavikalpābhāvādindriyāṇāmanāgataviṣayoparamācca mahāmate nirvāṇaṃ vikalpayanti na pratyātmagativijñānālayaṃ parāvṛttipūrvakaṃ mahāmate | ataste mahāmate mohapuruṣā yānatrayavādino bhavanti, na cittamātragatinirābhāasavādinaḥ | ataste mahāmate atītānāgatapratyutpannānāṃ tathāgatānāṃ svacittadṛśyagocarānabhijñā bāhyacittadṛśyagocarābhiniviṣṭāḥ | te saṃsāragaticakre punarmahāmate caṃkramyante ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate anutpannān sarvadharmānatītānāgatapratyutpannāstathāgatā bhāṣante | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaduta svacittadṛśyabhāvābhāvātsadasatorutpattivirahitatvānmahāmate anutpannāḥ sarvabhāvāḥ | śaśahayakharoṣṭraviṣāṇatulyā mahāmate sarvadharmāḥ | bālapṛthagjanābhūtaparikalpitasvabhāvavikalpitatvānmahāmate anutpannāḥ sarvabhāvāḥ | pratyātmāryajñānagatigocaro hi mahāmate sarvabhāvasvabhāvalakṣaṇotpādaḥ, na bālapṛthagjanavikalpadvayagocarasvabhāvaḥ | dehabhogapratiṣṭhāgatisvabhāvalakṣaṇaṃ mahāmate ālayavijñānaṃ grāhyagrāhakalakṣaṇena pravartamānaṃ bālā utpādasthitibhaṅgadṛṣṭidvayapatitāśayā utpādaṃ sarvabhāvānāṃ sadasatorvikalpayanti | atra te mahāmate yogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate pañcābhisamayagotrāṇi | katamāni pañca ? yaduta śrāvakayānābhisamayagotraṃ pratyekabuddhayānābhisamayagotraṃ tathāgatayānābhisamayagotram aniyataikataragotram agotraṃ ca pañcamam | kathaṃ punarmahāmate śrāvakayānābhisamayagotraṃ pratyetavyam ? yaḥ skandhadhātvāyatanasvasāmānyalakṣaṇaparijñānādhigame deśyamāne romāñcitatanurbhavati | lakṣaṇaparicayajñāne cāsya buddhiḥ praskandati, na pratītyasamutpādāvinirbhāgalakṣaṇaparicaye | idaṃ mahāmate śrāvakayānābhisamayagotram | yaḥ śrāvakayānābhisamayaṃ dṛṣṭvā ṣaṭpañcamyāṃ bhūmau paryutthānakleśaprahīṇo vāsanakleśāprahīṇo'cintyācyutigataḥ samyaksiṃhanādaṃ nadati-kṣīṇā me jātiḥ, uṣitaṃ brahmacaryam, ityevamādi nigadya pudgalanairātmyaparicayādyāvannirvāṇabuddhirbhavati ||



anye punarmahāmate ātmasattvajīvapoṣapuruṣapudgalasattvāvabodhānnirvāṇamanveṣante | anye punarmahāmate kāraṇādhīnān sarvadharmān dṛṣṭvā nirvāṇagatibuddhayo bhavanti | dharmanairātmyadarśanābhāvānnāsti mokṣo mahāmate | eṣā mahāmate śrāvakayānābhisamayagotrakasyāniryāṇaniryāṇabuddhiḥ | atra te mahāmate kudṛṣṭivyāvṛttyarthaṃ yogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ ||



tatra mahāmate pratyekabuddhayānābhisamayagotrakaḥ, yaḥ pratyekābhisamaye deśyamāne aśruhṛṣṭaromāñcitatanurbhavati | asaṃsargapratyayādbhāvābhiniveśabahuvividhasvakāyavaicitryarddhivyastayamakaprātihāryadarśane nirdiśyamāne'nunīyate, sa pratyekabuddhayānābhisamayagotraka iti viditvā pratyekabuddhayānābhisamayānurūpā kathā karaṇīyā | etanmahāmate pratyekabuddhayānābhisamayagotrakasya lakṣaṇam ||



tatra mahāmate tathāgatayānābhisamayagotraṃ trividham-yaduta svabhāvaniḥsvabhāvadharmābhisamayagotram, adhigamasvapratyātmāryābhisamayagotram, bāhyabuddhakṣetraudāryābhisamayagotraṃ ca | yadā punarmahāmate trayāṇāmapyeṣāmanyatame deśyamāne svacittadṛśyadehālabhogapratiṣṭhācintyaviṣaye deśyamāne notrasati na saṃtrasati na saṃtrāsamāpadyate, veditavyamayaṃ tathāgatayānābhisamayagotraka iti | etanmahāmate tathāgatayānābhisamayagotrakasya lakṣaṇam ||



aniyatagotrakaḥ punarmahāmate triṣvapyeteṣu deśyamāneṣu yatrānunīyate tatrānuyojyaḥ syāt | parikarmabhūmiriyaṃ mahāmate gotravyavasthā | nirābhāsabhūmyavakramaṇatayā vyavasthā kriyate | pratyātmālaye tu svakleśavāsanāśuddhasya dharmanairātmyadarśanātsamādhisukhavihāraṃ prāpya śrāvako jinakāyatāṃ pratilapsyate ||

atha khalu bhagavāṃstasyāṃ velāyāmimā gāthā abhāṣat -

srotāpattiphalaṃ caiva sakṛdāgāminastathā |

anāgāmiphalaṃ caiva arhattvaṃ cittavibhramam || 128 ||

triyānamekayānaṃ ca ayānaṃ ca vadāmyaham |

bālānāṃ mandabuddhīnāmāryāṇāṃ ca viviktatām || 129 ||

dvāraṃ hi paramārthasya vijñaptirdvayavarjitā |

yānatrayavyavasthānaṃ nirābhāse sthite kutaḥ || 130 ||

dhyānāni cāpramāṇāni ārūpyāśca samādhayaḥ |

saṃjñānirodho nikhilaṃ cittamātre na vidyate || 131 ||



tatrecchantikānāṃ punarmahāmate anicchantikatāmokṣaṃ kena pravartate ? yaduta sarvakuśalamūlotsargataśca sattvānādikālapraṇidhānataśca | tatra sarvakuśalamūlotsargaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta bodhisattvapiṭakanikṣepo'bhyākhyānaṃ ca naite sūtrāntā vinayamokṣānukūlā iti bruvataḥ sarvakuśalamūlotsargatvānna nirvāyate | dvitīyaḥ punarmahāmate bodhisattvo mahāsattva evaṃ bhavapraṇidhānopāyapūrvakatvānnāparinirvṛtaiḥ sarvasattvaiḥ parinirvāsyāmīti tato na parinirvāti | etanmahāmate aparinirvāṇadharmakāṇāṃ lakṣaṇaṃ yenecchantikagatiṃ samādhigacchanti ||



punarapi mahāmatirāha-katamo'tra bhagavan atyantato na parinirvāti ? bhagavānāha-bodhisattvecchantiko'tra mahāmate ādiparinirvṛtān sarvadharmān viditvā atyantato na parinirvāti | na punaḥ sarvakuśalamūlotsargecchantikaḥ | sarvakuśalamūlotsargecchantiko hi mahāmate punarapi tathāgatādhiṣṭhānātkadācitkarhicitkuśalamūlān vyutthāpayati | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaduta aparityaktā hi mahāmate tathāgatānāṃ sarvasattvāḥ | ata etasmātkāraṇānmahāmate bodhisattvecchantiko na parinirvātīti ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate bodhisattvena mahāsattvena svabhāvalakṣaṇatrayakuśalena bhavitavyam | tatra mahāmate parikalpitasvabhāvo nimittātpravartate | kathaṃ punarmahāmate parikalpitasvabhāvo nimittātpravartate ? tatra mahāmate paratantrasvabhāvo vastunimittalakṣaṇākāraḥ khyāyate | tatra mahāmate vastunimittalakṣaṇābhiniveśaḥ punardviprakāraḥ | parikalpitasvabhāvaṃ vyavasthāpayanti tathāgatā arhantaḥ samyaksaṃbuddhā nāmābhiniveśalakṣaṇena ca nāmavastunimittābhiniveśalakṣaṇena ca | tatra vastunimittābhiniveśalakṣaṇaṃ punarmahāmate yaduta adhyātmabāhyadharmābhiniveśaḥ | nimittalakṣaṇābhiniveśaḥ punaryaduta teṣveva ādhyātmikabāhyeṣu dharmeṣu svasāmānyalakṣaṇaparijñānāvabodhaḥ | etanmahāmate dviprakāraṃ parikalpitasvabhāvasya lakṣaṇam | yadāśrayālambanātpravartate tatparatantram | tatra mahāmate pariniṣpannasvabhāvaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta nimittanāmavastulakṣaṇavikalpavirahitaṃ tathatāryajñānagatimanapratyātmāryajñānagatigocaraḥ | eṣa mahāmate pariniṣpannasvabhāvastathāgatagarbhahṛdayam ||



atha khalu bhagavāṃstasyāṃ velāyāmimāṃ gāthāmabhāṣata-

nimittaṃ nāma saṃkalpaḥ svabhāvadvayalakṣaṇam |

samyagjñānaṃ hi tathatā pariniṣpannalakṣaṇam || 132 ||

eṣa mahāmate pañcadharmasvabhāvalakṣaṇapravicayo nāma dharmaparyāyaḥ pratyātmāryajñānagatigocaraḥ, yatra tvayā anyaiśca bodhisattvaiḥ śikṣitavyam ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate bodhisattvena mahāsattvena nairātmyadvayalakṣaṇapravicayakuśalena bhavitavyam | tatra mahāmate katamannairātmyadvayalakṣaṇam ? yaduta ātmātmīyarahitaskandhadhātvāyatanakadambamajñānakarmatṛṣṇāprabhavaṃ cakṣuṣā rūpādigrahaṇābhiniveśātpravartamānaṃ vijñānaṃ sarvendriyaiḥ svacittadṛśyabhājanadehālayasvacittavikalpavikalpitaṃ vijñāpayati | nadībījadīpavāyumeghasadṛśakṣaṇaparaṃparābhedabhinnaṃ capalaṃ vānaramakṣikāsadṛśamacaukṣamacaukṣaviṣayacāryanātho'nala ivātṛptamanādikālaprapañcaviṣayavāsanārahitamaraghaṭṭacakrayantracakravatsaṃsārabhavagaticakre vicitradeharūpadhārimāyāvetālayantrapratimaṃ pravartamānaṃ pravartate | yadatra mahāmate lakṣaṇakauśalajñānam, idamucyate pudgalanairātmyajñānam ||



tatra mahāmate dharmanairātmyajñānaṃ katamat ? yaduta skandhadhātvāyatanānāṃ parikalpitalakṣaṇasvabhāvāvabodhaḥ | yathā mahāmate skandhadhātvāyatanānyātmavirahitāni skandhasamūhamātraṃ hetukarmatṛṣṇāsūtropanibaddhamanyonyapratyayatayā pravartate nirīham, tathā skandhā api mahāmate svasāmānyalakṣaṇavirahitā abhūtaparikalpalakṣaṇavicitraprabhāvitā bālairvikalpyante na tvāryaiḥ | cittamanomanovijñānapañcadharmasvabhāvarahitān mahāmate sarvadharmān vibhāvayan bodhisattvo mahāsattvo dharmanairātmyakuśalo bhavati | dharmanairātmyakuśalaḥ punarmahāmate bodhisattvo mahāsattvo nacirātprathamāṃ bodhisattvabhūmiṃ nirābhāsapravicayāṃ pratilabhate | bhūmilakṣaṇapravicayāvabodhātpramuditānantaramanupūrvaṃ navasu bhūmiṣu kṛtavidyo mahādharmameghā pratilabhate | sa tasyāṃ pratiṣṭhito'nekaratnamuktopaśobhite mahāpadmarāje padmakṛtau mahāratnavimāne māyāsvabhāvagocaraparicayābhinirvṛtte niṣaṇṇaḥ tadanurūpairjinaputraiḥ parivṛtaḥ sarvabuddhakṣetrāgatairbuddhapāṇyabhiṣekaiścakravartiputravadabhiṣicyate | buddhasutabhūmimatikramya pratyātmāryadharmagatigamanatvāttathāgato dharmakāyavaśavartī bhaviṣyati dharmanairātmyadarśanāt | etanmahāmate sarvadharmanairātmyalakṣaṇam | atra te mahāmate śikṣitavyam, anyaiśca bodhisattvairmahāsattvaiḥ ||



atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ punarapi bhagavantametadavocat-samāropāpavādalakṣaṇaṃ me bhagavān deśayatu yathāhaṃ ca anye ca bodhisattvāḥ samāropāpavādakudṛṣṭivarjitamatayaḥ kṣipramanuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhimabhisaṃbudhyeran | abhisaṃbudhya śāśvatasamāropāpavādocchedadṛṣṭivivarjitāstava buddhanetrīṃ nāpavadiṣyante ||



atha khalu bhagavān punarapi mahāmaterbodhisattvasya mahāsattvasyādhyeṣaṇāṃ viditvā imāṃ gāthāmabhāṣata -

samāropāpavādo hi cittamātre na vidyate |

dehabhogapratiṣṭhābhaṃ ye cittaṃ nābhijānate |

samāropāpavādeṣu te carantyavipaścitaḥ || 133 ||

atha khalu bhagavānetameva gāthārthamuddyotayan punarapyetadavocat-caturvidho mahāmate asatsamāropaḥ | katamaścaturvidhaḥ ? yaduta asallakṣaṇasamāropo'saddṛṣṭisamāropo'taddhetusamāropo'sadbhāvasamāropaḥ | eṣa hi mahāmate caturvidhaḥ samāropaḥ ||



apavādaḥ punarmahāmate katamaḥ ? yaduta asyaiva kudṛṣṭisamāropasyānupalabdhipravicayābhāvādapavādo bhavati | etaddhi mahāmate samāropāpavādasya lakṣaṇam ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate asallakṣaṇasamāropasya lakṣaṇaṃ katamat ? yaduta skandhadhātvāyatanānāmasatsvasāmānyalakṣaṇābhiniveśaḥ-idamevamidaṃ nānyatheti | etaddhi mahāmate asallakṣaṇasamāropasya lakṣaṇam | eṣa hi mahāmate asallakṣaṇasamāropavikalpo'nādikālaprapañcadauṣṭhulyavicitravāsanābhiniveśātpravartate | etaddhi mahāmate asallakṣaṇasamāropasya lakṣaṇam ||



asaddṛṣṭisamāropaḥ punarmahāmate yasteṣveva skandhadhātvāyataneṣvātmasattvajīvajantupoṣapuruṣapudgaladṛṣṭisamāropaḥ | ayamucyate mahāmate asaddṛṣṭisamāropaḥ ||



asaddhetusamāropaḥ punarmahāmate yaduta ahetusamutpannaṃ prāgvijñānaṃ paścādabhūtvā māyāvadanutpannaṃ pūrvaṃ cakṣūrūpālokasmṛtipūrvakaṃ pravartate | pravṛtya bhūtvā ca punarvinaśyati | eṣa mahāmate asaddhetusamāropaḥ ||



asaddhāvasamāropaḥ punarmahāmate yaduta ākāśanirodhanirvāṇākṛtakabhāvābhiniveśasamāropaḥ | ete ca mahāmate bhāvābhāvavinivṛttāḥ | śaśahayakharoṣṭraviṣāṇakeśoṇḍukaprakhyā mahāmate sarvadharmāḥ sadasatpakṣavigatāḥ | samāropāpavādāśca | bālairvikalpyante svacittadṛśyamātrānavadhāritamatibhirna tvāryaiḥ | etanmahāmate asadbhāvavikalpasamāropāpavādasya lakṣaṇam | tasmāttarhi mahāmate samāropāpavādadṛṣṭivigatena bhavitavyam ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate bodhisattvāścittamanomanovijñānapañcadharmasvabhāvanairātmyalakṣaṇadvayagatiṃgatvā parahitahetoranekarūpaveśadhāriṇo bhavanti | parikalpitasvabhāvā iva paratantrāśayā viśvarūpacintāmaṇisadṛśāḥ sarvabuddhakṣetraparṣanmaṇḍalagatā māyāsvapnapratibhāsapratibimbodakacandragatisamānutpādabhaṅgaśāśvatocchedarahitān sarvadharmān saṃmukhaṃ sarvatathāgatebhyaḥ sarvaśrāvakapratyekabuddhayānavirahān dharmadeśanāṃ śṛṇvanti, samādhimukhaśatasahasrāṇi ca pratilabhante | yāvadanekāni samādhikoṭīniyutaśatasahasrāṇi pratilabhyaḥ taiḥ samādhibhiḥ kṣetrātkṣetraṃ saṃkrāmanti | buddhapūjābhiyuktāśca sarvopapattidevabhavanālayeṣu ratnatrayamupadeśya buddharūpamāsthāya śrāvakagaṇabodhisattvagaṇaparivṛtāḥ svacittadṛśyamātrāvatāraṇatayā bāhyabhāvābhāvopadeśaṃ kurvanti sadasatpakṣavinivṛttyartham ||

atha khalu bhagavāṃstasyāṃ velāyāmimāṃ gāthāmabhāṣata -

cittamātraṃ yadā lokaṃ prapaśyanti jinātmajāḥ |

tadā nairmāṇikaṃ kāyaṃ kriyāsaṃskāravarjitam |

labhante te balābhijñāvaśitaiḥ saha saṃyutam || 134 ||
atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ punarapi bhagavantamadhyeṣate sma-deśayatu bhagavān śūnyatānutpādādvayaniḥsvabhāvalakṣaṇaṃ sarvadharmāṇām, yena śūnyatānutpādādvayaniḥsvabhāvalakṣaṇāvabodhena ahaṃ ca anye ca bodhisattvā mahāsattvā nāstyastivikalpavarjitāḥ kṣipramanuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhimabhisaṃbudhyeran ||



atha khalu bhagavān mahāmatiṃ bodhisattvaṃ mahāsattvametadavocat-tena hi mahāmate śṛṇu, tatsādhu ca suṣṭhu ca manasi kuru | bhāṣiṣye'haṃ te | sādhu bhagavanniti mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvo bhagavataḥ pratyaśrauṣīt | bhagavānetadavocat-śūnyatā śūnyateti mahāmate parikalpitasvabhāvapadametat | parikalpitasvabhāvābhiniveśena punarmahāmate śūnyatānutpādābhāvādvayaniḥsvabhāvabhāvavādino bhavanti | tatra mahāmate saṃkṣepeṇa saptavidhā śūnyatā | yaduta lakṣaṇaśūnyatā bhāvasvabhāvaśūnyatā apracaritaśūnyatā pracaritaśūnyatā sarvadharmanirabhilāpyaśūnyatā paramārthāryajñānamahāśūnyatā itaretaraśūnyatā ca saptamī ||



tatra mahāmate lakṣaṇaśūnyatā katamā ? yaduta svasāmānyalakṣaṇaśūnyāḥ sarvabhāvāḥ | parasparasamūhāpekṣitatvātpravicayavibhāgābhāvānmahāmate svasāmānyalakṣaṇasyāpravṛttiḥ | svaparobhayābhāvācca mahāmate lakṣaṇaṃ nāvatiṣṭhate | atastaducyate svalakṣaṇaśūnyāḥ sarvabhāvā iti ||



bhāvasvabhāvaśūnyatā punarmahāmate katamā ? yaduta svayaṃ svabhāvābhāvotpattito mahāmate bhāvasvabhāvaśūnyatā bhavati sarvadharmāṇām | tenocyate bhāvasvabhāvaśūnyateti ||



apracaritaśūnyatā punarmahāmate katamā ? yaduta apracaritapūrvaṃ nirvāṇaṃ skandheṣu | tenocyate apracaritaśūnyateti ||



pracaritaśūnyatā punarmahāmate katamā ? yaduta skandhā ātmātmīyarahitā hetuyuktikriyākarmayogaiḥ pravartamānāḥ pravartante | tenocyate pracaritaśūnyateti ||



sarvadharmanirabhilāpyaśūnyatā punarmahāmate katamā ? yaduta parikalpitasvabhāvānabhilāpyatvānnirabhilāpyaśūnyāḥ sarvadharmāḥ | tenocyate nirabhilāpyaśūnyateti ||



paramārthāryajñānamahāśūnyatā punarmahāmate katamā ? yaduta svapratyātmāryajñānādhigamaḥ sarvadṛṣṭidoṣavāsanābhiḥ śūnyaḥ | tenocyate paramārthāryajñānamahāśūnyateti ||



itaretaraśūnyatā punarmahāmate katamā ? yaduta yadyatra nāsti tattena śūnyamityucyate | tadyathā mahāmate śṛgālamātuḥ prāsāde hastigavaiḍakādyā na santi | aśūnyaṃ ca bhikṣubhiriti bhāṣitaṃ mayā | sa ca taiḥ śūnya ityucyate | na ca punarmahāmate prāsādaḥ prāsādabhāvato nāsti, bhikṣavaśca bhikṣubhāvato na santi | na ca te'nyatra hastigavaiḍakādyā bhāvā nāvatiṣṭhante | idaṃ mahāmate svasāmānyalakṣaṇaṃ sarvadharmāṇām | itaretaraṃ tu na saṃvidyate | tenocyate itaretaraśūnyateti | eṣā mahāmate saptavidhā śūnyatā | eṣā ca mahāmate itaretaraśūnyatā sarvajaghanyā | sā ca tvayā parivarjayitavyā ||



na svayamutpadyate, na ca punarmahāmate te notpadyante anyatra samādhyavasthāyām | tenocyante anutpannā niḥsvabhāvāḥ | anutpattiṃ saṃghāya mahāmate niḥsvabhāvāḥ sarvabhāvāḥ | kṣaṇasaṃtatiprabandhābhāvācca anyathābhāvadarśanānmahāmate niḥsvabhāvāḥ sarvabhāvāḥ | tenocyate niḥsvabhāvāḥ sarvabhāvā iti ||



advayalakṣaṇaṃ punarmahāmate katamat ? yaduta cchāyātapavaddīrghahrasvakṛṣṇaśuklavanmahāmate dvayaprabhāviatā na pṛthakpṛthak| evaṃ saṃsāranirvāṇavanmahāmate sarvadharmā advayāḥ | na yatra mahāmate nirvāṇaṃ tatra saṃsāraḥ | na ca yatra saṃsārastatra nirvāṇam, vilakṣaṇahetusadbhāvāt | tenocyate advayā saṃsāraparinirvāṇavatsarvadharmā iti | tasmāttarhi mahāmate śūnyatānutpādādvayaniḥsvabhāvalakṣaṇe yogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ ||



atha khalu bhagavāṃstasyāṃ velāyāmime gāthe abhāṣata -

deśemi śūnyatāṃ nityaṃ śāśvatocchedavarjitām |

saṃsāraṃ svapnamāyākhyaṃ na ca karma vinaśyati || 135 ||

ākāśamatha nirvāṇaṃ nirodhaṃ dvayameva ca |

bālāḥ kalpentyakṛtakānāryā nāstyastivarjitān || 136 ||



atha khalu bhagavān punarapi mahāmatiṃ bodhisattvaṃ mahāsattvametadavocat-etaddhi mahāmate śūnyatānutpādādvayaniḥsvabhāvalakṣaṇaṃ sarvabuddhānāṃ sarvasūtrāntagatam | yatra kvacitsūtrānte'yamevārtho vibhāvayitavyaḥ | eṣa hi mahāmate sūtrāntaḥ sarvasattvāśayadeśanārthavyabhicāraṇī, na sā tattvapratyavasthānakathā | tadyathā mahāmate mṛgatṛṣṇikā mṛgollāpinī udakabhāvābhiniveśenābhiniveśyate, tasyāṃ codakaṃ nāsti, evameva mahāmate sarvasūtrāntadeśanā dharmā bālānāṃ svavikalpasaṃtoṣaṇam, na tu sā tattvāryajñānavyavasthānakathā | tasmāttarhi mahāmate arthānusāriṇā bhavitavyaṃ na deśanābhilāpābhiniviṣṭena ||



atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvo bhagavantametadavocat-tathāgatagarbhaḥ punarbhagavatā sūtrāntapāṭhe'nuvarṇitaḥ | sa ca kila tvayā prakṛtiprabhāsvaraviśuddhyādiviśuddha eva varṇyate dvātriṃśallakṣaṇadharaḥ sarvasattvadehāntargataḥ | mahārghamūlyaratnaṃ malinavastupariveṣṭitamiva skandhadhātvāyatanavastuveṣṭito rāgadveṣamohābhūtaparikalpamalamalino nityo dhruvaḥ śivaḥ śāśvataśca bhagavatā varṇitaḥ | tatkathamayaṃ bhagavaṃstīrthakarātmavādatulyastathāgatagarbhavādo na bhavati ? tīrthakarā api bhagavan nityaḥ kartā nirguṇo vibhuravyaya ityātmavādopadeśaṃ kurvanti ||



bhagavānāha-na hi mahāmate tīrthakarātmavādatulyo mama tathāgatagarbhopadeśaḥ | kiṃ tu mahāmate tathāgatāḥ śūnyatābhūtakoṭinirvāṇānutpādānimittāpraṇihitādyānāṃ mahāmate padārthānāṃ tathāgatagarbhopadeśaṃ kṛtvā tathāgatā arhantaḥ samyaksaṃbuddhā bālānāṃ nairātmyasaṃtrāsapadavivarjanārthaṃ nirvikalpanirābhāsagocaraṃ tathāgatagarbhamukhopadeśena deśayanti | na cātra mahāmate anāgatapratyutpannaiḥ bodhisattvairmahāsattvairātmābhiniveśaḥ kartavyaḥ | tadyathā mahāmate kumbhakāra ekasmānmṛtparamāṇurāśervividhāni bhāṇḍāni karoti hastaśilpadaṇḍodakasūtraprayatnayogāt, evameva mahāmate tathāgatāstadeva dharmanairātmyaṃ sarvavikalpalakṣaṇavinivṛttaṃ vividhaiḥ prajñopāyakauśalyayogairgarbhopadeśena vā nairātmyopadeśena vā kumbhakāravaccitraiḥ padavyañjanaparyāyairdeśayante | etasmātkāraṇānmahāmate tīrthakarātmavādopadeśatulyastathāgatagarbhopadeśo na bhavati | evaṃ hi mahāmate tathāgatagarbhopadeśamātmavādābhiniviṣṭānāṃ tīrthakarāṇāmākarṣaṇārthaṃ tathāgatagarbhopadeśena nirdiśanti-kathaṃ bata abhūtātmavikalpadṛṣṭipatitāśayā vimokṣatrayagocarapatitāśayopetāḥ kṣipramanuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhimabhisaṃbudhyeranniti | etadarthaṃ mahāmate tathāgatā arhantaḥ samyaksaṃbuddhāstathāgatagarbhopadeśaṃ kurvanti | ata etanna bhavati tīrthakarātmavādatulyam | tasmāttarhi mahāmate tīrthakaradṛṣṭivinivṛttyarthaṃ tathāgatanairātmyagarbhānusāriṇā ca te bhavitavyam ||



atha khalu bhagavāṃstasyāṃ velāyāmimāṃ gāthāmabhāṣata-

pudgalaḥ saṃtatiḥ skandhāḥ pratyayā aṇavastathā |

pradhānamīśvaraḥ kartā cittamātraṃ vikalpyate || 137 ||

atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo'nāgatāṃ janatāṃ samālokya punarapi bhagavantamadhyeṣate sma-deśayatu me bhagavān yogābhisamayaṃ yathā bodhisattvā mahāsattvā mahāyogayogino bhavanti | bhagavānāha-caturbhirmahāmate dharmaiḥ samanvāgatā bodhisattvā mahāyogayogino bhavanti | katamaiścaturbhiḥ ? yaduta svacittadṛśyavibhāvanatayā ca utpādasthitibhaṅgadṛṣṭivivarjanatayā ca bāhyabhāvābhāvopalakṣaṇatayā ca svapratyātmāryajñānādhigamābhilakṣaṇatayā ca | ebhirmahāmate caturbhirdharmaiḥ samanvāgatā bodhisattvā mahāsattvā mahāyogayogino bhavanti ||



tatra kathaṃ mahāmate bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ svacittadṛśyavibhāvanākuśalo bhavati ? yaduta sa evaṃ pratyavekṣate-svacittamātramidaṃ traidhātukamātmātmīyarahitaṃ nirīhamāyūhaniyūhavigatamanādikālaprapañcadauṣṭhulyavāsanābhiniveśavāsitaṃ traidhātukavicitrarūpopacāropanibaddhaṃ dehabhogapratiṣṭhāgativikalpānugataṃ vikalpyate khyāyate ca | evaṃ hi mahāmate bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ svacittadṛśyavibhāvanākuśalo bhavati ||



kathaṃ punarmahāmate bodhisattvo mahāsattva utpādasthitibhaṅgadṛṣṭivivarjito bhavati ? yaduta māyāsvapnarūpajanmasadṛśāḥ sarvabhāvāḥ svaparobhayābhāvānnotpadyante | svacittamātrānusāritvādbāhyabhāvābhāvadarśanādvijñānānāmapravṛttiṃ dṛṣṭvā pratyayānāmakūṭarāśitvaṃ ca vikalpapratyayodbhavaṃ traidhātukaṃ paśyanto'dhyātmabāhyasarvadharmānupalabdhibhirniḥsvabhāvadarśanādutpādadṛṣṭivinivṛttau māyādidharmasvabhāvānugamādanutpattikadharmakṣāntiṃ pratilabhante | aṣṭamyāṃ bhūmau sthitāḥ cittamanomanovijñānapañcadharmasvabhāvanairātmyadvayagatiparāvṛttyadhigamānmanomayakāyaṃ pratilabhante ||



mahāmatirāha-manomayakāya iti bhagavan kena kāraṇena ? bhagavānāha-manomaya iti mahāmate manovadapratihataśīghragābhitvānmanomaya ityucyate | tadyathā mahāmate mano'pratihataṃ girikuḍyanadīvṛkṣādiṣvanekāni yojanaśatasahasrāṇi pūrvadṛṣṭānubhūtān viṣayānanusmaran svacittaprabandhāvicchinnaśarīramapratihatagati pravartate, evameva mahāmate manomayakāyasahapratilambhena māyopamasamena samādhinā balavaśitābhijñānalakṣaṇakusumitamāryagatinikāyasahajo mana iva pravartate'pratihatagatiḥ pūrvapraṇidhānaviṣayānanusmaran sattvaparipākārtham | evaṃ hi mahāmate bodhisattvo mahāsattva utpādasthitibhaṅgadṛṣṭivivarjito bhavati ||



tatra kathaṃ mahāmate bodhisattvo mahāsattvo bāhyabhāvābhāvopalakṣaṇakuśalo bhavati ? yaduta marīcisvapnakeśoṇḍukaprakhyā mahāmate sarvabhāvāḥ | anādikālaprapañcadauṣṭhulyavicitravipākavikalpavāsanābhiniveśahetukāḥ sarvabhāvasvabhāvā iti saṃpaśyan pratyātmāryajñānagativiṣayamabhilaṣate | ebhirmahāmate caturbhirdharmaiḥ samanvāgatā bodhisattvā mahāsattvā mahāyogayogino bhavanti | atra te mahāmate yogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ ||



atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvaḥ punarapi bhagavantamadhyeṣate sma-deśayatu me bhagavān hetupratyayalakṣaṇaṃ sarvadharmāṇām, yena hetupratyayalakṣaṇāvabodhena ahaṃ ca anye ca bodhisattvā mahāsattvā sadasaddṛṣṭivikalparahitāḥ sarvabhāvanākramaṃ yugapadutpattiṃ na kalpayeyuḥ ||



bhagavānāha-dviprakāraṃ mahāmate pratītyasamutpādahetulakṣaṇaṃ sarvadharmāṇāṃ yaduta bāhyaṃ ca ādhyātmikaṃ ca | tatra bāhyapratītyasamutpādo mahāmate | mṛtpiṇḍadaṇḍacakrasūtrodakapuruṣaprayatnādipratyayairmahāmate ghaṭa utpadyate | yathā ca mahāmate ghaṭo mṛtpiṇḍādeva, tantubhyaḥ paṭāḥ, vīraṇebhyaḥ kaṭāḥ, bījādaṅkuraḥ, manthādipuruṣaprayatnayogāddadhno navanīta utpadyate, evameva mahāmate bāhyaḥ pratītyasamutpādaḥ pūrvottarottaro draṣṭavyam ||



tatra ādhyātmikaḥ pratītyasamutpādo yaduta avidyā tṛṣā karmetyevamādyā mahāmate dharmāḥ pratītyasamutpādasaṃjñāṃ pratilabhante | ebhya utpannā mahāmate skandhadhātvāyatanākhyā dharmāḥ pratītyasamutpādasaṃjñāṃ pratilabhante | te cāviśiṣṭāḥ, kalpyante ca bālaiḥ ||



tatra heturmahāmate ṣaḍūvidhaḥ | yaduta bhaviṣyaddhetuḥ saṃbandhaheturlakṣaṇahetuḥ kāraṇaheturvyañjanaheturupekṣāheturmahāmate ṣaṣṭhaḥ | tatra bhaviṣyaddheturmahāmate hetukṛtyaṃ karotyadhyātmabāhyotpattau dharmāṇām | saṃbandhahetuḥ punarmahāmate ālambanakṛtyaṃ karotyadhyātmikabāhyotpattau skandhabījādīnām | lakṣaṇahetuḥ punaraparaṃ mahāmate anantarakriyālakṣaṇoparibaddhaṃ janayati | kāraṇahetuḥ punarmahāmate ādhipatyādhikārakṛtyaṃ karoti cakravartinṛpavat | vyañjanahetuḥ punarmahāmate utpannasya vikalpasya bhāvasya lakṣaṇoddyotanakṛtyaṃ karoti pradīpavadrūpādīnām | upekṣāhetuḥ punarmahāmate vinivṛttikāle prabandhakriyāvyucchittiṃ karotyavikalpotpattau ||



ete hi mahāmate svavikalpakalpitā bālapṛthagjanairna kramavṛttyā na yugapatpravartante | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yadi punarmahāmate yugapatpravarteran, kāryakāraṇavibhāgo na syādapratilabdhahetulakṣaṇatvāt | atha kramavṛttyā pravarteran, alabdhasya lakṣaṇātmakatvātkramavṛttyā na pravartate | ajātaputrapitṛśabdavanmahāmate kramavṛttisaṃbandhayogā na ghaṭante | tārkikāṇāṃ hetvārambaṇanirantarādhipatipratyayādibhirjanyajanakatvānmahāmate kramavṛttyā notpadyante | parikalpitasvabhāvābhiniveśalakṣaṇānmahāmate yugapannotpadyante | svacittadṛśyadehabhogapraviṣṭhānatvātsvasāmānyalakṣaṇabāhyabhāvābhāvānmahāmate krameṇa yugapadvā notpadyante | anyatra svacittadṛśyavikalpavikalpitatvādvijñānaṃ pravartate | tasmāttarhi mahāmate hetupratyayakriyāyogalakṣaṇakramayugapaddṛṣṭivigatena te bhavitavyam ||

tatredamucyate -

na hyatrotpadyate kiṃcitpratyayairna nirudhyate |

utpadyante nirudhyante pratyayā eva kalpitāḥ || 138 ||

na bhaṅgotpādasaṃkleśaḥ pratyayānāṃ nivāryate |

yatra bālā vikalpanti pratyayaiḥ sa nivāryate || 139 ||

yaccāsataḥ pratyayeṣu dharmāṇāṃ nāsti saṃbhavaḥ |

vāsanairbhrāmitaṃ cittaṃ tribhave khyāyate yataḥ |

nābhūtvā jāyate kiṃcitpratyayairna virudhyate || 140 ||

vandhyāsutākāśapuṣpaṃ yadā paśyanti saṃskṛtam |

tadā grāhaśca grāhyaṃ ca bhrāntiṃ dṛṣṭvā nivartate || 141 ||

na cotpādyaṃ na cotpannaḥ pratyayo'pi na kiṃcana |

saṃvidyate kvacitkecidvayavahārastu kathyate || 142 ||



atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ punarapi bhagavantametadavocat-deśayatu me bhagavān vāgvikalpalakṣaṇahṛdayaṃ nāma dharmaparyāyaṃ yena vāgvikalpalakṣaṇahṛdayena bhagavan suprativibhāgavinibaddhena ahaṃ ca anye ca bodhisattvā mahāsattvā abhilāpābhilāpyārthadvayagatiṃgatāḥ kṣipramanuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhimabhisaṃbudhya abhilāpābhilāpyārthadvayagatiṃ sarvasattvānāṃ viśodhayeyuḥ | bhagavānāha-tena hi mahāmate śṛṇu, sādhu ca suṣṭhu ca manasikuru | bhāṣiṣye'haṃ te | sādhu bhagavan iti mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvo bhagavataḥ pratyaśrauṣīt | bhagavānasyaitadavocat- caturvidhaṃ mahāmate vāgvikalpalakṣaṇaṃ bhavati | yaduta lakṣaṇavāk svapnavāk dauṣṭhulyavikalpābhiniveśavāk anādivikalpavāk ||



tatra mahāmate lakṣaṇavāk svavikalparūpanimittābhiniveśātpravartate | svapnavāk punarmahāmate pūrvānubhūtaviṣayānusmaraṇātprativibuddhaviṣayābhāvācca pravartate | dauṣṭhulyavikalpābhiniveśavāk punarmahāmate śatrupūrvakṛtakarmānusmaraṇātpravartate | anādikālavikalpavāk punarmahāmate anādikālaprapañcābhiniveśadauṣṭhulyasvabījavāsanātaḥ pravartate | etaddhi mahāmate caturvidhaṃ vāgvikalpalakṣaṇamiti me yaduktam, idaṃ tatpratyuktam ||



atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ punarapi bhagavantametamevārthamadhyeṣate sma-deśayatu me bhagavān punarapi vāgvikalpābhivyaktigocaram | kutra kasmāt kathaṃ kena bhagavan nṛṇāṃ vāgvijñaptivikalpaḥ pravartate ? bhagavānāha-śirauronāsākaṇṭhatālvoṣṭhajihvādantasamavāyānmahāmate vāk pravartamānā pravartate | mahāmatirāha-kiṃ punarbhagavan vāg vikalpādanyā uta ananyā ? bhagavānāha-na hi mahāmate vāg vikalpādanyā nānanyā | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaduta taddhetūtpattilakṣaṇatvānmahāmate vāgvikalpaḥ pravartate | yadi punarmahāmate vāg vikalpādanyā syāt, avikalpahetukī syāt | athānanyā syāt, arthābhivyaktitvādvāg na kuryāt | sā ca kurute | tasmānnānyā nānanyā ||



punarapi mahāmatirāha-kiṃ punarbhagavan vacanameva paramārthaḥ, uta yadvacanenābhilapyate sa paramārthaḥ ? bhagavānāha-na mahāmate vacanaṃ paramārthaḥ, na ca yadvacanenābhilapyate sa paramārthaḥ | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaduta paramārthāryasukhābhilāpapraveśitvātparamārthasya vacanaṃ na paramārthaḥ | paramārthasyu mahāmate āryajñānapratyātmagatigamyo na vāgvikalpabuddhigocaraḥ | tena vikalpo nodbhāvayati paramārtham | vacanaṃ punarmahāmate utpannapradhvaṃsi capalaṃ parasparapratyayahetusamutpannam | yacca mahāmate parasparapratyayahetusamutpannaṃ tatparamārthaṃ nodbhāvayati | svaparalakṣaṇābhāvānmahāmate bāhyalakṣaṇaṃ nodbhāvayati ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate svacittadṛśyamātrānusāritvādvividhavicitralakṣaṇabāhyabhāvābhāvādvāgvikalpaḥ paramārthaṃ na vikalpayati | tasmāttarhi mahāmate vāgvicitravikalparahitena te bhavitavyam ||

tatredamucyate -

sarvabhāvo'svabhāvo hi sadvacanaṃ tathāpyasat |

śūnyatāśūnyatārthaṃ vā bālo'paśyan vidhāvati || 143 ||

sarvabhāvasvabhāvā ca vacanamapi nṛṇām |

kalpanā sāpi nāsti nirvāṇaṃ svapnatulyam |

bhavaṃ parīkṣeta na saṃsāre nāpi nirvāyāt || 144 ||

rājā śreṣṭhī yathā putrān vicitrairmṛnmayairmṛgaiḥ |

pralobhya krīḍayitvā ca bhūtān dadyāttato mṛgān || 145 ||

tathāhaṃ lakṣaṇaiścitrairdharmāṇāṃ pratibimbakaiḥ |

pratyātmavedyāṃ putrebhyo bhūtakoṭiṃ vadāmyaham || 146 ||



atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ punarapi bhagavantametadavocat-deśayatu me bhagavān nāstyastitvaikatvānyatvobhayanobhayanaivāstinanāstinityānityavarjitaṃ sarvatīrthyāgatipracāramāryapratyātmajñānagatigamyaṃ parikalpitasvasāmānyalakṣaṇavinivṛttaṃ paramārthatattvāvatāraṃ bhūmyanusaṃdhikramottarottaraviśuddhilakṣaṇaṃ tathāgatabhūmyanupraveśalakṣaṇamanābhogapūrvapraṇidhānaviśvarūpamaṇisadṛśaviṣayānantalakṣaṇapracāraṃ svacittadṛśyagocaragativibhāgalakṣaṇaṃ sarvadharmāṇām | yathā ca ahaṃ ca anye ca bodhisattvā mahāsattvā evamādiṣu parikalpitasvabhāvasvasāmānya lakṣaṇavinivṛttadṛṣṭayaḥ kṣipramanuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhimabhisaṃbudhya sarvasattvānāṃ sarvaguṇasaṃpattīḥ paripūrayema ||



bhagavānāha-sādhu sādhu mahāmate, sādhu khalu punastvaṃ mahāmate, yattvametamarthamadhyeṣitavyaṃ manyase | bahujanahitāya tvaṃ mahāmate pratipanno bahujanasukhāya lokānukampāyai mahato janakāyasyārthāya hitāya sukhāya devānāṃ ca manuṣyāṇāṃ ca | tena hi mahāmate śṛṇu, sādhu ca suṣṭhu ca manasi kuru | bhāviṣye'haṃ te | sādhu bhagavanniti mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvo bhagavataḥ pratyaśrauṣīt | bhagavāṃstasyaitadavocat-svacittadṛśyamātrānavabodhānmahāmate bālapṛthagjanā bāhyavicitrabhāvābhiniveśena ca nāstyastitvaikatvānyatvobhayanaivāstinanāstinityānityasvabhāvavāsanāhetuvikalpābhiniveśena vikalpayanti | tadyathā mahāmate mṛgatṛṣṇodakaṃ mṛgā udakabhāvena vikalpya grīṣmābhitaptāḥ pātukāmatayā pradhāvanti, svacittadṛṣṭibhrāntyanavabodhānna prajānantinātrodakamiti, evameva mahāmate bālapṛthagjanā anādikālavividhaprapañcavikalpavāsitamatayo rāgadveṣamohāgnitāpitamanaso vicitrarūpaviṣayābhilāṣiṇaḥ utpādabhaṅgasthitidṛṣṭyāśayā ādhyātmikabāhyabhāvābhāvākuśalāḥ | te ekatvānyatvanāstyastitvagrāhe prapatanti | tadyathā mahāmate gandharvanagare'viduṣāmanagare nagarasaṃjñā bhavati | sā ca nagarākṛtiranādikālanagarabījavāsanābhiniveśātkhyāti | tacca nagaraṃ nānagaraṃ na nagaram | evameva mahāmate anādikālatīrthyapraprañcavādavāsanābhiniviṣṭāḥ ekatvānyatvāstitvanāstitvavādānabhiniviśante svacittadṛśyamātrānavadhāritamatayaḥ | tadyathā mahāmate kaścideva puruṣaḥ śayitaḥ svapnāntare strīpuruṣahastyaśvarathapadātigrāmanagaranigamagomahiṣavanodyānavividhagirinadītaḍāgopaśobhitaṃ janapadamantaḥpuraṃ praviśya prativibudhyeta | sa prativibuddhaḥ saṃstadeva janapadamantaḥpuraṃ samanusmaret |

tatkiṃ manyase mahāmate-api nu sa puruṣaḥ paṇḍitajātīyo bhavet, yastadabhūtaṃ svapnavaicitryamanusmaret ? āha-no hīdaṃ bhagavan | bhagavānāha-evameva mahāmate bālapṛthagjanāḥ kudṛṣṭidaṣṭāstīrthyamatayaḥ svapnatulyātsvacittadṛśyabhāvānna prativijānante, ekatvānyatvanāstyastitvadṛṣṭiṃ samāśrayante | tadyathā mahāmate citrakarakṛtapradeśā animnonnatāḥ santo nimnonnatā bālaiḥ kalpyante, evameva mahāmate bhaviṣyantyanāgate'dhvani tīrthyadṛṣṭivāsanāśayaprativikalpapuṣṭāḥ | te ekatvānyatvobhayānubhayavādābhiniviṣṭāḥ svayaṃ naṣṭā anyānapi sadasatpakṣaviviktānutpādavādino nāstikā iti vakṣyanti | ete hetuphalāpavādino durdarśanonmūlitahetukuśalaśuklapakṣāḥ | ete śreyorthibhirdūrataḥ parivarjyāṃ iti vakṣyante | te ca svaparobhayadṛṣṭipatitāśayā nāstyastitvavikalpasamāropāpavādakudṛṣṭipatitāśayā narakaparāyaṇā bhaviṣyanti | tadyathā mahāmate taimirikāḥ keśoṇḍukaṃ dṛṣṭvā parasparamācakṣate-iadaṃ citramidaṃ citramiti paśyantu bho mārṣāḥ | tacca keśoṇḍukamubhayānutpannatayā na bhāvo nābhāvo darśanādarśanataḥ | evameva mahāmate tīrthyakudṛṣṭivikalpāśayābhiniviṣṭāḥ sadasatpakṣaikatvānyatvobhayānubhayatvavādābhiniviṣṭāḥ saddharmāpavādakā ātmānaṃ parāṃśca vinipātayiṣyanti | tadyathā mahāmate acakramalātacakraṃ bālaiścakrabhāvena parikalpyate na paṇḍitaiḥ, evameva mahāmate kudṛṣṭitīrthyāśayapatitā ekatvānyatvobhayānubhayatvaṃ parikalpayiṣyanti sarvabhāvotpattau | tadyathā mahāmate deve pravarṣati jalabudbudakāḥ sphaṭikamaṇisadṛśāḥ khyāyante | tatra ca bālāḥ sphaṭikamaṇibhāvamabhiniveśya pradhāvanti | te ca mahāmate udakabudbudakā na maṇayo nāmaṇayo grahaṇāgrahaṇataḥ | evameva mahāmate tīrthyadṛṣṭivikalpāśayavāsanāvāsitā asataścotpādaṃ varṇayiṣyanti pratyayaiḥ, sataśca vināśam ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate pramāṇatrayāvayavapratyavasthānaṃ kṛtvā āryajñānapratyātmādhigamyaṃ svabhāvadvayavinirmuktaṃ vastu svabhāvato vidyata iti vikalpayiṣyanti | na ca mahāmate cittamano manovijñānacittaparāvṛttyāśrayāṇāṃ svacittadṛśyagrāhyagrāhakavikalpaprahīṇānāṃ tathāgatabhūmipratyātmāryajñānagatānāṃ yogināṃ bhāvābhāvasaṃjñā pravartate | yadi punarmahāmate yogināmevaṃgativiṣayāṇāṃ bhāvābhāvagrāhaḥ pravartate, sa evaiṣāmātmagrāhaḥ poṣagrāhaḥ puruṣagrāhaḥ pudgalagrāhaḥ syāt | yā punarevaṃ mahāmate bhāvasvabhāvasvasāmānyalakṣaṇadeśanā, eṣā mahāmate nairmāṇikabuddhadeśanāḥ na dharmatābuddhadeśanā | deśanā punarmahāmate bālaśayagatadṛṣṭipravṛttā, na ca pratyavasthānagatisvabhāvadharmāryajñānapratyātmādhigamasamādhisukhavihāramudbhāvayati | tadyathā mahāmate jalāntargatā vṛkṣacchāyā khyāyate | sā ca na cchāyā nācchāyā vṛkṣasaṃsthānāsaṃsthānataḥ, evameva mahāmate tīrthyadṛṣṭivāsanāvāsitavikalpā ekatvānyatvobhayatvānubhayatvanāstyastitvaṃ vikalpayiṣyanti svacittadṛśyamātrānavadhāritamatayaḥ | tadyathā mahāmate darpaṇāntargatāni sarvarūpapratibimbakāni khyāyante yathāpratyayataḥ svavikalpanācca, na tāni bimbāni nābimbāni bimbābimbadarśanataḥ | atha ca te mahāmate svacittadṛśyavikalpāḥ khyāyante bālānāṃ bimbākṛtayaḥ | evameva mahāmate svacittapratibimbāni khyāyante ekatvānyatvobhayānubhayadṛṣṭyākāreṇa | tadyathā mahāmate pratiśrutkā puruṣanadīpavanasaṃyogātpravartamānā anuśrūyate | sā ca na bhāvā nābhāvā ghoṣāghoṣaśravaṇataḥ, evameva mahāmate nāstyastitvaikatvānyatvobhayanobhayadṛṣṭisvacittavāsanāvikalpāḥ khyāyante | tadyathā mahāmate nistṛṇagulmalatāvanāyāṃ medinyāmādityasaṃyogānmṛgatṛṣṇikāstaraṃgavatsyandante | te ca na bhāvā nābhāvā lobhyālobhyataḥ | evameva mahāmate bālānāmanādikālaprapañcadauṣṭhulyavāsanāvāsitaṃ vikalpavijñānamutpādasthitibhaṅgaikatvānyatvobhayānubhayanāstyastyāryapratyātmajñānavastumukhena mṛgatṛṣṇikāvattaraṃgāyate | tadyathā mahāmate vetālayantrapuruṣau niḥsattvau piśācayuktigātspandanakriyāṃ kurvāte | tatra ca asadvikalpe bālā abhiniviśante gamanāgamanataḥ | evameva mahāmate bālapṛthagjanāḥ kudṛṣṭitīrthyāśayapatitā ekatvānyatvavādānabhiniviśante | sa ca asadbhūtasamāropaḥ | tasmāttarhi mahāmate utpādasthitibhaṅgaikatvānyatvobhayānubhayanāstyastyāryapratyātmavastvadhigamavikalparahitena bhavitavyam ||

tathā vijñānabījaṃ hi spandate dṛṣṭigocare |

bālā gṛhṇanti jāyantaṃ timiraṃ taimirā yathā || 150 ||

anādigatisaṃsāre bhāvagrāhopagūhitam |

bālaḥ kīle yathā kīlaṃ pralobhya vinivartayet || 151 ||

māyāvetālayantrābhaṃ svapnavidyuddhanaṃ sadā |

trisaṃtativyavacchinnaṃ jagatpaśya (n?) vimucyate || 152 ||

na hyatra kācidvijñaptirmarīcīnāṃ yathā nabhe |

evaṃ dharmān vijānanto na kiṃcitpratijānate || 153 ||

vijñaptirnāmamātreyaṃ lakṣaṇena na vidyate |

skandhāḥ keśoṇḍukākārā yatra cāsau vikalpyate || 154 ||

cittaṃ keśoṇḍukaṃ māyāṃ svapna gandharvameva ca |

alātaṃ mṛgatṛṣṇā ca asantaḥ khyāti vai nṛṇām || 155 ||

nityānityaṃ tathaikatvamubhayaṃ nobhayaṃ tathā |

anādidoṣasaṃbandhād bālāḥ kalpanti mohitāḥ || 156 ||

darpaṇe udake netre bhāṇḍeṣu ca maṇīṣu ca |

bimbaṃ hi dṛśyate teṣu bimbaṃ nāsti ca kutracid || 157 ||

bhāvābhāsaṃ tathā cittaṃ mṛgatṛṣṇā yathā nabhe |

dṛśyate citrarūpeṇa svapne vandhyauraso yathā || 158 ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate catuṣṭayavinirmuktā tathāgatānāṃ dharmadeśanā, yaduta ekatvānyatvobhayānubhayapakṣavivarjitā nāstyastisamāropāpavādavinirmuktā | asatyapratītyasamutpādanirodhamārgavimokṣapravṛttipūrvakā mahāmate tathāgatānāṃ dharmadeśanā | na prakṛtīśvarahetuyadṛcchāṇukālasvabhāvopanibaddhā mahāmate tathāgatānāṃ dharmadeśanā ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate kleśajñeyāvaraṇadvayaviśuddhyarthaṃ sārthavāhavadānupūrvyā aṣṭottare nirābhāsapadaśate pratiṣṭhāpayanti yānabhūmyaṅgasuvibhāgalakṣaṇe ca ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate caturvidhaṃ dhyānam | katamaccaturvidham ? yaduta bālopacārikaṃ dhyānam, arthapravicayaṃ dhyānam, tathatālambanaṃ dhyānam, tāthāgataṃ caturthaṃ dhyānam | tatra mahāmate bālopacārikaṃ dhyānaṃ katamat ? yaduta śrāvakapratyekabuddhayogayogināṃ pudgalanairātmyabhāvasvasāmānyabimbasaṃkalānityaduḥkhāśubhalakṣaṇābhiniveśapūrvakam, evamidaṃ lakṣaṇaṃ nānyatheti paśyataḥ pūrvottarottarata ā saṃjñānirodhādbālopacārikaṃ bhavati | tatra arthapravicayadhyānaṃ punarmahāmate katamat ? yaduta pudgalanairātmyasvasāmānyalakṣaṇabāhyatīrthakarasvaparobhayābhāvaṃ kṛtvā dharmanairātmyabhūmilakṣaṇārthaṃ pravicayānupūrvakamarthapravicayadhyānaṃ bhavati | tatra tathatālambanaṃ dhyānaṃ mahāmate katamat ? yaduta parikalpitanairātmyadvayavikalpayathābhūtāvasthānādapravṛttervikalpasya tathatālambanamiti vadāmi | tāthāgataṃ punarmahāmate dhyānaṃ katamat? yaduta tāthāgatabhūmyākārapraveśaṃ pratyātmāryajñānalakṣaṇatrayasukhavihārācintyasattvakṛtyakaraṇatayā tāthāgataṃ dhyānamiti vadāmi ||

tatredamucyate -

arthapravicayaṃ dhyānaṃ dhyānaṃ bālopacārikam |

tathatālambanaṃ dhyānaṃ dhyānaṃ tāthāgataṃ śubham || 159 ||

somabhāskarasaṃsthānaṃ padmapātālasādṛśam |

gaganāgnicitrasadṛśaṃ yogī yuñjan prapaśyati || 160 ||

nimittāni ca citrāṇi tīrthamārgaṃ nayanti te |

śrāvakatve nipātanti pratyekajinagocare || 161 ||

vidhūya sarvāṇyetāni nirābhāsaṃ yadā bhavet |

tadā buddhākarādityāḥ sarvakṣetrāḥ samāgatāḥ |

śiro hi tasya mārjanti nimittaṃ tathatānugam || 162 ||



atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ punarapi bhagavantametadavocat-nirvāṇaṃ nirvāṇamiti bhagavannucyate | kasyaitadbhagavannadhivacanaṃ yaduta nirvāṇamiti ? bhagavānāha-sarvavijñānasvabhāvavāsanālayamanomanovijñānadṛṣṭivāsanāparāvṛttirnirvāṇamityucyate sarvabuddhairmayā ca nirvāṇagatisvabhāvaśūnyatāvastugocaram ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate nirvāṇamāryajñānapratyātmagatigocaraṃ śāśvatocchedavikalpabhāvābhāvavivarjitam | kathaṃ na śāśvatam ? yaduta svasāmānyalakṣaṇavikalpaprahīṇam, ato na śāśvatam | tatrānucchedo yaduta sarvārthā atītānāgatapratyutpannāḥ pratyātmamapi gacchanti, ato nocchedaḥ ||



punarmahāmate mahāparinirvāṇaṃ na nāśo na maraṇam | yadi punarmahāmate mahāparinirvāṇaṃ maraṇaṃ syāt, punarapi janmaprabandhaḥ syāt | atha vināśaḥ syāt, saṃskṛtalakṣaṇapatitaṃ syāt | ata etasmātkāraṇānmahāmate mahāparinirvāṇaṃ na nāśaṃ na maraṇam | cyutivigataṃ maraṇamadhigacchanti yoginaḥ | punaraparaṃ mahāmate mahāparinirvāṇamaprahīṇāsaṃprāptito'nucchedāśāśvatato naikārthato nānārthato nirvāṇamityucyate ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate śrāvakapratyekabuddhānāṃ nirvāṇaṃ svasāmānyalakṣaṇāvabodhādasaṃsargataḥ | viṣayāviparyāsadarśanādvikalpo na pravartate | tatasteṣāṃ tatra nirvāṇabuddhirbhavati ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate dviprakāraṃ svabhāvadvayalakṣaṇaṃ bhavati | katamat dviprakāram ? yaduta abhilāpasvabhāvābhiniveśataśca vastusvabhāvābhiniveśataśca | tatra mahāmate abhilāpasvabhāvābhiniveśo'nādikālavākprapañcavāsanābhiniveśātpravartate | tatra vastusvabhāvābhiniveśaḥ punarmahāmate svacittadṛśyamātrānavabodhātpravartate ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate adhiṣṭhānadvayādhiṣṭhitā bodhisattvāstathāgatānāmarhatāṃ samyaksaṃbuddhānāṃ caraṇayornipatya praśnān paripṛcchanti | katamenādhiṣṭhānadvayenādhiṣṭhitāḥ ? yaduta samādhisamāpattyadhiṣṭhānena sarvakāyamukhapāṇyabhiṣekādhiṣṭhānena ca | tatra mahāmate bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ prathamāyāṃ bhūmau buddhādhiṣṭhānādhiṣṭhitā mahāyānaprabhāsaṃ nāma bodhisattvasamādhiṃ samāpadyante | samanantarasamāpannānāṃ ca teṣāṃ bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāṃ mahāyānaprabhāsaṃ bodhisattvasamādhim, atha daśadiglokadhātuvyavasthitāstathāgatā arhantaḥ samyaksaṃbuddhā mukhānyupadarśya sarvakāyamukhavācāsaṃdarśanenādhiṣṭhānaṃ kurvanti | yathā mahāmate vajragarbhasya bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya anyeṣāṃ ca tādṛglakṣaṇaguṇasamanvāgatānāṃ bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānām, evaṃ mahāmate prathamāyāṃ bhūmau bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ samādhisamāpattyadhiṣṭhānaṃ pratilabhante | kalpaśatasahasraṃ saṃcitaiḥ kuśalamūlairanupūrveṇa bhūmipakṣavipakṣalakṣaṇagatiṃgatāṃ dharmameghāyāṃ bodhisattvabhūmau mahāpadmavimānāsanasthasya bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya tadanurūpairbodhisattvairmahāsattvaiḥ parivṛtasya sarvaratnābharaṇavibhūṣitakirīṭasya haritālakanakacampakacandrāṃśumayūkhapadmasadṛśā daśadiglokadhātvāgatā jinakarāstasya bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya padmavimānāsanasthasya mūrdhanyabhiṣiñcanti vaśavarticakravartīndrarājavatsarvakāyamukhapāṇyabhiṣekena | sa ca bodhisattvaste ca bodhisattvāḥ pāṇyabhiṣekādhiṣṭhānādhiṣṭhitā ityucyante | etanmahāmate bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāmadhiṣṭhānadvayam, yenādhiṣṭhānadvayenādhiṣṭhitā bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ sarvabuddhamukhānyavalokayanti | anyatrāvyavalokyāstathāgatā arhantaḥ samyaksaṃbuddhāḥ ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate yatkiṃcidbodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāṃ pratibhāti samādhyṛddhideśanākāreṇa, tatsarvabuddhādhiṣṭhānadvayādhiṣṭhitānām | yadi punarmahāmate bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāmadhiṣṭhānamantareṇa pratibhānaṃ pratibhāyāt, bālapṛthagjanānāmapi mahāmate pratibhānaṃ pratibhāyāt | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaduta adhiṣṭhānānadhiṣṭhitatvāt | tṛṇagulmavṛkṣaparvatā api mahāmate vividhāni ca vādyabhāṇḍāni nagarabhavanagṛhavimānāsanasthānāni tathāgatapraveśādhiṣṭhānena pravādyante | kiṃ punarmahāmate sacetanā mūkāndhabadhirā api mahāmate svadoṣebhyo vimucyante | evaṃ mahāguṇaviśeṣaṃ mahāmate tathāgatādhiṣṭhānam ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmatirāha-kiṃ punarbhagavaṃstathāgatā arhantaḥ samyaksaṃbuddhā bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāṃ samādhisamāpattyavasthānakāle viśeṣabhūmau ca abhiṣekādhiṣṭhānaṃ prakurvanti ? bhagavānāha-mārakarmakleśaviyuktārthaṃ śrāvakadhyānabhūmyaprapatanatayā ca tathāgatabhūmipratyātmādhigamanatayā ca prāptadharmādhigamavivṛddhaye ca | etena mahāmate kāraṇena tathāgatā arhantaḥ samyaksaṃbuddhā bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāmadhiṣṭhānairadhitiṣṭhanti | anadhiṣṭhitāśca mahāmate bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ kutīrthyaśrāvakamārāśayapatitā nānuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhimabhisaṃbudhyeran | atastena kāraṇena bodhisattvā mahāsattvāstathāgatairarhadbhiḥ samyaksaṃbuddhairanugṛhyante ||

tatredamucyate -

adhiṣṭhānaṃ narendrāṇāṃ praṇidhānairviśodhitam |

abhiṣekasamādhyādyāḥ prathamāddaśamāya vai || 163 ||



atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvaḥ punarapi bhagavantametadavocat-pratītyasamutpādaṃ punarbhagavatā deśayatā kāraṇavyapadeśa eva kṛto na svanayaprakṛtyavasthānakathā | tīrthakarā api bhagavan kāraṇata utpattiṃ varṇayanti, yaduta pradhāneśvarapuruṣakālāṇupratyayebhyo bhāvānāmutpattayaḥ | kiṃ tu bhagavatā pratyayaparyāyāntareṇotpattirvarṇyate bhāvānām | na ca siddhāntaviśeṣāntaram | sadasato hi bhagavaṃstīrthakarā apyutpattiṃ varṇayanti, bhūtvā ca vināśaṃ pratyayairbhāvānām | yadapyuktaṃ bhagavatā-avidyāpratyayāḥ saṃskārā yāvajjarāmaraṇamiti, ahetuvādavyapadeśa eṣa bhagavatānuvarṇitaḥ, na sa hetuvādaḥ | yugapadvayavasthitānāṃ bhagavannetadbhavati-asmin satīdaṃ bhavatīti, na kramavṛttyapekṣāvasthitānām | kiṃ tu tīrthakaravyapadeśa eva bhagavan viśiṣyate na tvadīyam | tatkasya hetoḥ ? tīrthakarāṇāṃ hiṃ bhagavan kāraṇamapratītyasamutpannaṃ kāryamabhinirvartayati | tava tu bhagavan kāraṇamapi kāryāpekṣaṃ kāryamapi kāraṇāpekṣam | hetupratyayasaṃkaraśca evamanyonyānavasthā prasajyate | ahetutvaṃ ca bhagavan lokasya-asmin satīdaṃ bruvataḥ | bhagavānāha-na mahāmate mamāhetukakāraṇavādo hetupratyayasaṃkaraśca prasajyate-asmin satīdaṃ bruvataḥ, grāhyagrāhakābhāvāt, svacittadṛśyamātrāvabodhāt | ye tu mahāmate grāhyagrāhakābhiniviṣṭāḥ svacittadṛśyamātraṃ nāvabudhyante bāhyasvaviṣayabhāvābhāvatvena, teṣāṃ mahāmate eṣa doṣaḥ prasajyate , na tu mama pratītyakāraṇavyapadeśaṃ kurvataḥ ||
punaraparaṃ mahāmatirāha-nanu bhagavan abhilāpasadbhāvātsanti sarvabhāvāḥ | yadi punarbhagavan bhāvā na syuḥ, abhilāpo na pravartate | pravartate ca | tasmādabhilāpasadbhāvādbhagavan santi sarvabhāvāḥ | bhagavānāha-asatāmapi mahāmate bhāvānāmabhilāpaḥ kriyate | yaduta śaśaviṣāṇakūrmaromavandhyāputrādīnāṃ loke dṛṣṭo'bhilāpaḥ | te ca mahāmate na bhāvā nābhāvāḥ, abhilapyante ca | tadyadavocastvaṃ mahāmate-abhilāpasadbhāvātsanti sarvabhāvā iti, sa hi vādaḥ prahīṇaḥ | na ca mahāmate sarvabuddhakṣetreṣu prasiddho'bhilāpaḥ | abhilāpo mahāmate kṛtakaḥ | kvacinmahāmate buddhakṣetre'nimiṣaprekṣayā dharmo deśyate, kvacidiṅgitaiḥ, kvacidbhūvikṣepeṇa, kvacinnetrasaṃcāreṇa, kvacidāsyena, kvacidvijṛmbhitena, kvacidutkāsanaśabdena, kvacitkṣetrasmṛtyā, kvacitspanditena | yathā mahāmate animiṣāyāṃ gandhasugandhāyāṃ ca lokadhātau samantabhadrasya tathāgatasyārhataḥ samyaksaṃbuddhasya buddhakṣetre animiṣairnetraiḥ prekṣamāṇāste bodhisattvā mahāsattvā anutpattikadharmakṣāntiṃ pratilabhante anyāṃśca samādhiviśeṣān, ata evāsmātkāraṇānmahāmate nābhilāpasadbhāvātsanti sarvabhāvāḥ | dṛṣṭaṃ caitanmahāmate | iha loke kṛmimakṣikaivamādyāḥ sattvaviśeṣā anabhilāpenaiva svakṛtyaṃ kurvanti ||

tatredamucyate -

ākāśaṃ śaśaśṛṅgaṃ ca vandhyāyāḥ putra eva ca |

asanto hyabhilapyante tathā bhāveṣu kalpanā || 164 ||

hetupratyayasāmagryāṃ bālāḥ kalpanti saṃbhavam |

ajānānā nayamidaṃ bhramanti tribhavālaye || 165 ||

atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ punarapi bhagavantametadavocat-nityaśabdaḥ punarbhagavan kvabhihitaḥ ? bhagavānāha-bhrāntau mahāmate | yasmādiyaṃ bhrāntirāryāṇāmapi khyāyate viparyāsataḥ | tadyathā mahāmate mṛgatṛṣṇālātacakrakeśoṇḍukagandharvanagaramāyāsvapnapratibimbākṣapuruṣā loke'vidvadbhirviparyasyante, na tu vidvadbhiḥ | na ca punarna khyāyante | sā punarbhrāntirmahāmate anekaprakārā khyāyāt | na bhrānteraśāśvatatāṃ kurute | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaduta bhāvābhāvavivarjitatvāt | kathaṃ punarmahāmate bhāvābhāvavivarjitā bhrāntiḥ ? yaduta sarvabālavicitragocaratvātsamudrataraṃgagaṅgodakavatpretānāṃ darśanādarśanataḥ | ata etasmātkāraṇānmahāmate bhrāntibhāvo na bhavati | yasmācca tadudakamanyeṣāṃ khyāyate, ato hyabhāvo na bhavati | evaṃ bhrāntirāryāṇāṃ viparyāsāviparyāsavarjitā | ataśca mahāmate asmātkāraṇācchāśvatā bhrāntiryaduta nimittalakṣaṇābhedatvāt | na hi mahāmate bhrāntirvividhavicitranimittavikalpena vikalpyamānā bhedamupayāti | ata etasmātkāraṇānmahāmate bhrāntiḥ śāśvatā ||



kathaṃ punarmahāmate bhrāntistattvaṃ bhavati ? yena punaḥ kāraṇena mahāmate āryāṇāmasyāṃ bhrāntau viparyāsabuddhirna pravartate, nāviparyāsabuddhiḥ | nānyatra mahāmate āryā asyāṃ bhrāntau yakiṃcitsaṃjñino bhavanti nāryajñānavastusaṃjñinaḥ | yatkiṃciditi mahāmate bālapralāpa eṣa nāryapralāpaḥ | sā punarbhrāntirviparyāsāviparyāsena vikalpyamānā gotradvayāvahā bhavati yaduta āryagotrasya vā bālapṛthagjanagotrasya vā | āryagotraṃ punarmahāmate triprakāramupayāti yaduta śrāvakapratyekabuddhabuddhaprabhedataḥ | tatra kathaṃ punarmahāmate bālairbhrāntirvikalpyamānā śrāvakayānagotraṃ janayati ? yaduta mahāmate svasāmānyalakṣaṇābhiniveśenābhiniviśyamānā śrāvakayānagotrāya saṃvartate | evaṃ mahāmate sā bhrāntiḥ śrāvakayānagotrāvahā bhavati | tatra kathaṃ punarmahāmate saiva bhrāntirvikalpyamānā pratyekabuddhayānagotrāvahā bhavati ? yaduta tasyā eva mahāmate bhrānteḥ svasāmānyalakṣaṇābhiniveśāsaṃsargataḥ pratyekabuddhayānagotrāvahā bhavati | tatra kathaṃ punarmahāmate paṇḍitaiḥ saiva bhrāntirvikalpyamānā buddhayānagotrāvahā bhavati ? yaduta mahāmate svacittadṛśyamātrāvabodhādbāhyabhāvābhāvavikalpanatayā vikalpyamānā buddhayānagotrāavahā bhavati | ata eva mahāmate gotram | eṣa gotrārthaḥ | vicitravastubhāvanā punarmahāmate bālairbhrāntirvikalpyamānā saṃsārayānagotrāvahā bhavati, evamidaṃ nānyatheti | ata etasmātkāraṇānmahāmate bhrāntirvicitravastutvena kalpyate bālaiḥ | sā ca na vastu, nāvastu | saiva mahāmate bhrāntiravikalpyamānā āryāṇāṃ cittamanomanovijñānadauṣṭhulyavāsanāsvabhāvadharmaparāvṛttibhāvādbhrāntirāryāṇāṃ tathatetyucyate | ata etaduktaṃ bhavati mahāmate-tathatāpi cittavinirmukteti | asyaiva mahāmate padasyābhidyotanārthamidamuktaṃ mayā-kalpanaiśca vivarjitaṃ sarvakalpanāvirahitamiti yāvaduktaṃ bhavati ||



mahāmatirāha-bhrāntirbhagavan vidyate neti ? bhagavānāha-māyāvanmahāmate na lakṣaṇābhiniveśato bhrāntirvidyate | yadi punarmahāmate bhrāntirlakṣaṇābhiniveśena vidyate, avyāvṛtta eva mahāmate bhāvābhiniveśaḥ syāt | pratītyasamutpādavattīrthakarakāraṇotpādavadetatsyānmahāmate | mahāmatirāha- yadi bhagavan māyāprakhyā bhrāntiḥ, tenānyasyā bhrānteḥ kāraṇībhaviṣyati | bhagavānāha-na mahāmate māyā bhrāntikāraṇam | adauṣṭhulyadoṣāvahatvānna hi mahāmate māyā dauṣṭhulyadoṣamāvahati | avikalpyamānā māyā punarmahāmate parapuruṣavidyādhiṣṭhānātpravartate, na svavikalpadauṣṭhulyavāsanādhiṣṭhānataḥ | sā na doṣāvahā bhavati | cittadṛṣṭimohamātrametanmahāmate bālānāṃ yatkiṃcidabhiniveśato na tvāryāṇām ||

tatredamucyate -

āryo na paśyati bhrāntiṃ nāpi tattvaṃ tadantare |

bhrāntireva bhavettattvaṃ yasmāttattvaṃ tadantare || 166 ||

bhrāntiṃ vidhūya sarvāṃ hi nimittaṃ jāyate yadi |

saiva tasya bhavedbhrāntiraśuddhaṃ timiraṃ yathā || 167 ||

punaraparaṃ mahāmate na māyā nāsti | sādharmyadarśanātsarvadharmāṇāṃ māyopamatvaṃ bhavati | mahāmatirāha-kiṃ punarbhagavan vicitramāyābhiniveśalakṣaṇena sarvadharmāṇāṃ māyopamatvaṃ bhavati, atha vitathābhiniveśalakṣaṇena ? tadyadi bhagavan vicitramāyābhiniveśalakṣaṇena sarvadharmāṇāṃ māyopamatvaṃ bhavati, hanta bhagavan na bhāvā māyopamāḥ | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaduta rūpasya vicitralakṣaṇāhetudarśanāt | na hi bhagavan kaściddheturasti yena rūpaṃ vicitralakṣaṇākāraṃ khyāyate māyāvat | ata etasmātkāraṇādbhagavan na vicitramāyālakṣaṇābhiniveśasādharmyādbhāvā māyopamāḥ ||



bhagavānāha-na mahāmate vicitramāyālakṣaṇābhiniveśasādharmyātsarvadharmā māyopamāḥ, kiṃ tarhi mahāmate vitathāśuvidyutsadṛśasādharmyeṇa sarvadharmā māyopamāḥ | tadyathā mahāmate vidyullatā kṣaṇabhaṅgadṛṣṭanaṣṭadarśanaṃ punarbālānāṃ khyāyate, evameva mahāmate sarvabhāvāḥ svavikalpasāmānyalakṣaṇāḥ pravicayābhāvānna khyāyante rūpalakṣaṇābhiniveśataḥ ||

tatredamucyate -

na māyā nāsti sādharmyādbhāvānāṃ kathyate'stitā |

vitathāśuvidyutsadṛśāstena māyopamāḥ smṛtāḥ || 168 ||

punaraparaṃ mahāmatirāha-yatpunaretaduktaṃ bhagavatā-anutpannāḥ sarvabhāvā māyopamāśceti | nanu te bhagavan evaṃ bruvataḥ pūrvottaravacanavyāghātadoṣaḥ prasajyate, anutpādaṃ bhāvānāṃ māyopamatvenābhilapataḥ | bhagavānāha-na mahāmate mamānutpādaṃ bhāvānāṃ māyopamatvenābhilapataḥ pūrvottaravacanavyāghātadoṣo bhavati | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaduta utpādānutpādasvacittadṛśyamātrāvabodhātsadasatorbāhyabhāvābhāvānutpattidarśanānna mahāmate pūrvottaravacanavyāghātadoṣaḥ prasajyate | kiṃ tu mahāmate tīrthakarakāraṇakṣotpattivyudāsārthamidamucyate-māyāvadanutpannāḥ sarvabhāvāḥ | tīrthakaramohavargā hi mahāmate sadasatorbhāvānāmutpattimicchanti na svavikalpavicitrābhiniveśapratyayataḥ | mama tu mahāmate na saṃtrāsamutpadyate | ata etasmātkāraṇānmahāmate anutpādābhidhānamevābhidhīyate | bhāvopadeśaḥ punarmahāmate saṃsāraparigrahārthaṃ ca nāstītyucchedanivāraṇārthaṃ ca | macchiṣyāṇāṃ vicitrakarmopapattyāyatanaparigrahārthaṃ bhāvaśabdaparigraheṇa saṃsāraparigrahaḥ kriyate | māyābhāvasvabhāvalakṣaṇanirdeśena mahāmate bhāvasvabhāvalakṣaṇavyāvṛttyarthaṃ bālapṛthagjanānāṃ kṛdṛṣṭilakṣaṇapatitāśayānāṃ svacittadṛśyamātrānavadhāriṇāṃ hetupratyayakriyotpattilakṣaṇābhiniviṣṭhānāṃ nivāraṇārthaṃ māyāsvapnasvabhāvalakṣaṇān sarvadharmān deśayāmi | ete bālapṛthagjanāḥ kudṛṣṭilakṣaṇāśayābhiniviṣṭā ātmānaṃ paraṃ ca sarvadharmā yathābhūtāvasthānadarśanādvisaṃvādayiṣyanti | tatra yathābhūtāvasthānadarśanaṃ mahāmate sarvadharmāṇāṃ yaduta svacittadṛśyamātrāvatāraḥ ||

tatredamucyate -

anutpāde kāraṇābhāvo bhāve saṃsārasaṃgrahaḥ |

māyādisadṛśaṃ paśyellakṣaṇaṃ na vikalpayet || 169 ||

punaraparaṃ mahāmate nāmapadavyañjanakāyānāṃ lakṣaṇamuddekṣyāmaḥ, yairnāmapadavyañjanakāyaiḥ sūpalakṣitairbodhisattvā mahāsattvā arthapadavyañjanānusāriṇaḥ kṣipramanuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhimabhisaṃbudhya tathaiva sarvasattvānavabodhayiṣyanti | tatra mahāmate kāyo nāma yaduta yadvastvāśritya nāma kriyate, sa kāyo vastu | kāyaḥ śarīramityanarthāntaram | eṣa mahāmate nāmakāyaḥ | padakāyaḥ punarmahāmate yaduta padārthakāyasadbhāvo niścayaḥ | niṣṭhā upalabdhirityanarthāntaram | eṣa mahāmate padakāyopadeśaḥ kṛto māyā | vyañjanakāyaḥ punarmahāmate yaduta yena nāmapadayorabhivyaktirbhavati | vyañjanaṃ liṅgaṃ lakṣaṇamupalabdhiḥ prajñaptirityanarthāntaram ||

punaraparaṃ mahāmate padakāyo yaduta padakāryaniṣṭhā | nāma punarmahāmate yaduta akṣarāṇāṃ ca nāmasvabhāvabhedo'kārādyāvaddhakāraḥ | tatra vyañjanaṃ punarmahāmate yaduta hrasvadīrghaplutavyañjanāni | tatra padakāyāḥ punarmahāmate ye padavīthīgāmino hastyaśvanaramṛgapaśugomahiṣājaiḍakādyāḥ padakāyasaṃjñāṃ labhante | nāma ca vyañjanaṃ ca punarmahāmate catvāra arūpiṇaḥ skandhāḥ | nāmnābhilapyanta iti kṛtvā nāma, svalakṣaṇena vyajyate iti kṛtvā vyañjanam | etanmahāmate nāmapadavyañjanakāyānāṃ nāmapadābhidhānalakṣaṇam | atra te paricayaḥ karaṇīyaḥ ||

tatredamucyate -

vyañjane padakāye ca nāmni cāpi viśeṣataḥ |

bālāḥ sajjanti durmedhā mahāpaṅke yathā gajāḥ || 170 ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate yuktihetubuddhivaikalyātkutārkikā durvidagdhamatayo'nāgate'dhvani pṛṣṭā vidvadbhirekatvānyatvobhayānubhayadṛṣṭilakṣaṇavinirmuktamantadvayavidhiṃ pṛcchadbhirevaṃ vakṣyanti-apraśnamidaṃ nedaṃ yoniśa iti, yaduta rūpādibhyo'nityatā anyā ananyeti | evaṃ nirvāṇaṃ saṃskārebhyo lakṣaṇāllakṣaṇaṃ guṇebhyo guṇī bhūtebhyo bhautikaṃ dṛśyāddarśanaṃ pāṃśubhyo'ṇavo jñānādyoginaḥ, evamādyenottarottarakramalakṣaṇavidhinā avyākṛtāni pṛṣṭāḥ sthāpanīyaṃ bhagavatā avyākṛtamiti vakṣyanti | na tu te mohapuruṣā evaṃ jñāsyanti yathā śrotṝṇāṃ buddhivaikalyāt tathāgatā arhantaḥ samyaksaṃbuddhā utrāsapadavivarjanārthaṃ sattvānāṃ na vyākurvanti | avyākṛtānyapi ca mahāmate tīrthakaradṛṣṭivādavyudāsārthaṃ nopadiśyante tathāgataiḥ | tīrthakarā hi mahāmate evaṃvādinaḥ-yaduta sa jīvastaccharīram, anyo jīvo'nyaccharīram, ityevamādye'vyākṛtavādaḥ | tīrthakarāṇāṃ hi mahāmate kāraṇavisaṃmūḍhānāmavyākṛtaṃ na tu matpravacane | matpravacane tu mahāmate grāhyagrāhakavisaṃyukte vikalpo na pravartate | teṣāṃ kathaṃ sthāpyaṃ bhavet ? ye tu mahāmate grāhyagrāhakābhiniviṣṭāḥ svacittadṛśyamātrānavadhāritamatayasteṣāṃ sthāpyaṃ bhavati | caturvidhapadapraśnavyākaraṇena mahāmate tathāgatā arhantaḥ samyaksaṃbuddhāḥ sattvebhyo dharmaṃ deśayanti | sthāpanīyamiti mahāmate kālāntaradeśanaiṣā mayā kṛtā aparipakvendriyāṇām | na tu paripakvendriyāṇāṃ sthāpyaṃ bhavati ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate kriyākārakarahitāḥ sarvadharmā notpadyante'kārakatvāt | tenocyate'nuptannāḥ sarvadharmāḥ | niḥsvabhāvāḥ punarmahāmate sarvabhāvāḥ kena kāraṇenaḥ ? yasmānmahāmate svabuddhyā vicāryamāṇānāṃ svasāmānyalakṣaṇābhāvā nāvadhāryante, tenocyante niḥsvabhāvāḥ sarvadharmā iti | tatra anāyūhāniryūhāḥ punarmahāmate sarvadharmāḥ kena kāraṇena ? yasmānmahāmate svasāmānyalakṣaṇamāyūhyamānaṃ nāyuhyate, niryūhyamānaṃ na niryūhyate | ata etasmātkāraṇānmahāmate sarvadharmā āyūhaniryūhavigatāḥ | aniruddhāḥ punarmahāmate sarvadharmāḥ kena kāraṇena ? yaduta bhāvasvabhāvalakṣaṇāsattvātsarvadharmā nopalabhyante | tenocyante'niruddhāḥ sarvadharmā iti | tatra anityāḥ punarmahāmate sarvadharmāḥ kena kāraṇenocyante ? yaduta lakṣaṇotpattyanityabhāvāt | tenocyante anityāḥ sarvadharmā iti | tatra nityāḥ punarmahāmate sarvadharmāḥ kena kāraṇena ? yaduta lakṣaṇotpannānutpannābhāvādanityatayā nityāḥ | tenocyante mahāmate nityāḥ sarvadharmā iti ||

tatredamucyate -

caturvidhaṃ vyākaraṇamekāṃśaṃ paripṛcchanam |

vibhajyaṃ sthāpanīyaṃ ca tīrthavādanivāraṇam || 171 ||

sadasatorhyanutpādaḥ sāṃkhyavaiśeṣikaiḥ smṛtaḥ |

avyākṛtāni sarvāṇi taireva hi prakāśitā || 172 ||

buddhyā vivecyamānānāṃ svabhāvo nāvadhāryate |

tasmādanabhilāpyāste niḥsvabhāvāśca deśitāḥ || 173 ||

atha khalu mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ punarapi bhagavantametadavocat-deśayatu me bhagavān srotaāpannānāṃ srotaāpattigatiprabhedanayalakṣaṇam | yena srotaāpattigatiprabhedanayalakṣaṇena ahaṃ ca anye ca bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ srotaāpannānāṃ srotaāpattigatiprabhedanayalakṣaṇakuśalā uttarottarasakṛdāgāmyanāgāmyarhattvopāyalakṣaṇavidhijñāstathā sattvebhyo dharmaṃ deśayeyuḥ, yathā nairātmyalakṣaṇadvayamāvaraṇadvayaṃ ca prativiśodhya bhūmerbhūmilakṣaṇātikramagatiṃgatāstathāgatācintyagativiṣayagocaraṃ pratilabhya viśvarūpamaṇisadṛśāḥ sarvasattvopajīvyatāmadhigaccheyuḥ, sarvadharmaviṣayagatikāyopabhogyatopajīvyāḥ syuḥ ||



bhagavānāha-tena hi mahāmate śṛṇu, sādhu ca suṣṭhu ca manasikuru | bhāṣiṣye'haṃ te | sādhu bhagavanniti mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvo bhagavataḥ pratyaśrauṣīt | bhagavāṃstasyaitadavocat-traya ime mahāmate srotaāpannānāṃ srotaāpattiphalaprabhedāḥ | katame trayaḥ ? yaduta hīnamadhyaviśiṣṭāḥ tatra mahāmate hīnaḥ saptajanmabhavaparamaḥ | madhyaḥ punarmahāmate tripañcabhavaparinirvāyī bhavati | uttamaḥ punarmahāmate tajjanmaparinirvāyī bhavati | eṣāṃ tu mahāmate trayāṇāṃ trīṇi saṃyojanāni mṛdumadhyādhimātrāṇyeva bhavanti | tatra mahāmate katamāni trīṇi saṃyojanāni ? yaduta satkāyadṛṣṭirvicikitsā śīlavrataparāmarśaśca | etāni mahāmate trīṇi saṃyojanāni viśeṣottarottareṇa arhatāmarhatphalībhavanti | tatra mahāmate satkāyadṛṣṭirdvividhā yaduta sahajā ca parikalpitā ca, paratantraparikalpitasvabhāvavat | tadyathā mahāmate paratantrasvabhāvāśrayādvicitraparikalpitasvabhāvābhiniveśaḥ pravartate | sa ca tatra na sannāsanna sadasan, abhūtaparikalpalakṣaṇatvāt | atha ca bālairvikalpyate vicitrasvabhāvalakṣaṇābhiniveśena mṛgatṛṣṇikeva mṛgaiḥ | iyaṃ mahāmate srotaāpannasya parikalpitā satkāyadṛṣṭirajñānāccirakālābhiniveśasaṃcitā | sā ca tasya pudgalanairātmyagrahābhāvataḥ prahīṇā | sahajā punarmahāmate srotaāpannasya satkāyadṛṣṭiḥ svaparakāyasamatayā catuḥskandharūpalakṣaṇatvādrūpasyotpattibhūtabhautikatvātparasparahetulakṣaṇatvādbhūtānāṃ rūpasyāsamudaya iti kṛtvā srotaāpannasya sadasatpakṣadṛṣṭidarśanātsatkāyadṛṣṭiḥ prahīṇā bhavati | ata eva satkāyadṛṣṭiprahīṇasya rāgo na pravartate | etanmahāmate satkāyadṛṣṭilakṣaṇam ||



vicikitsālakṣaṇaṃ punarmahāmate yaduta prāptidharmādhigamasudṛṣṭilakṣaṇatvātpūrvaṃ satkāyadṛṣṭidvayavikalpaprahīṇatvācca vicikitsā dharmeṣu na bhavati | na cāsya anyā śāstṛdṛṣṭirbhavati śuddhāśuddhitaḥ | etanmahāmate vicikitsālakṣaṇaṃ srotaāpannasya ||



śīlaṃ punarmahāmate kathaṃ na parāmṛśati srotaāpannaḥ ? yaduta duḥkhopapattyāyatanalakṣaṇasaṃdṛṣṭatvānna parāmṛśati | parāmṛṣṭiḥ punarmahāmate yaduta śīlavratataponiyamairbālapṛthagjanā bhogasukhābhilāṣiṇo bhavotpattiṃ prārthayante, na ca parāmṛśanti | evamanyatra svapratyātmādhigamaviśeṣagāmitāyāṃ pariṇāmayanti | nirvikalpānāsravadharmalakṣaṇākāreṇa prasajyante śīlāṅgaiḥ | etanmahāmate srotaāpannasya śīlavrataparāmarśalakṣaṇaṃ bhavati | na tu mahāmate srotaāpannasya trisaṃyojanaprahīṇasya rāgadveṣamohāḥ pravartante ||



mahāmatirāha-rāgaḥ punarbhagavatā bahuprakāra upadiṣṭaḥ | tatkatamastasyātra rāgaḥ prahīṇo bhavati ? bhagavānāha-viṣayakāmendriyaḥ strīsaṃyogarāgaḥ pratyutpannasukhaḥ āyatyāṃ duḥkhajanmahetukaḥ khaṭacapeṭaliṅgitacumbitapariṣvaktāghrātakaṭākṣekṣitaiḥ | tasya mahāmate rāgo na pravartate | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaduta samādhisukhavihāralābhitvāt | ata eṣa prahīṇo bhavati, na nirvāṇādhigamarāgaḥ ||



sakṛdāgāmiphalalakṣaṇaṃ punarmahāmate katamat ? yaduta sakṛdrūpalakṣaṇābhāsavikalpaḥ pravartate | nimittadṛṣṭilakṣyalakṣaṇābhāvāddhyānagatilakṣaṇasudṛṣṭatvātsakṛdetaṃ lokamāgamya duḥkhasyāntakriyāyai parinirvāsyati | tenocyate sakṛdāgāmīti | tatra anāgāmīti mahāmate kathaṃ bhavati ? yaduta atītānāgatapratyutpannasya rūpalakṣaṇabhāvābhāvapravṛtterdṛṣṭidoṣānuśayavikalpasya anāgāmitvādanāgāmirūpaprahīṇatvācca saṃyojanānāmanāgāmītyucyate | arhan punarmahāmate dhyānadhyeyasamādhivimokṣabalābhijñākleśaduḥkhavikalpābhāvādarhannityucyate ||



mahāmatirāha-trayaḥ punarbhagavatā arhanto'bhihitāḥ | tatkatamasyāyaṃ bhagavannarhacchabdo nipātyate ? kiṃ bhagavan śamaikāyanamārgapratilambhikasya, uta bodhipraṇidhānābhyastakuśalamūlasaṃmūḍhasya, uta nirmitanairmāṇikasya ? bhagavānāha-śamaikāyanamārgapratilambhikasya mahāmate śrāvakasya, na tvanyeṣām | anye punarmahāmate bodhisattvacaryācaritāvino buddhanirmitanairmāṇikāśca upāyakuśalamūlapraṇidhānapūrvakatvātparṣanmaṇḍaleṣūpapattiṃ darśayanti buddhaparṣanmaṇḍalopaśobhanārtham | vikalpagatisaṃsthānāntaravicitropadeśo'yaṃ mahāmate yaduta phalādhigamadhyānadhyātṛdhyeyaviviktatvātsvacittadṛśyopagamātphalaprāptilakṣaṇamupadiśyate | punaraparaṃ mahāmate yadi srotaāpannasyaitadabhaviṣyat-imāni saṃyojanāni, ahamebhirna saṃyukta iti, taddvitvaprasaṅga ātmadṛṣṭipatitaḥ syādaprahīṇasaṃyojanaśca ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate dhyānāpramāṇārūpyadhātusamatikramāya svacittadṛśyalakṣaṇavyāvṛttiḥ karaṇīyā | saṃjñāveditanirodhasamāpattiśca mahāmate svacittadṛśyagativyatikramastasya na yujyate cittamātratvāt ||

tatredamucyate -

dhyānāni cāpramāṇāni ārūpyāśca samādhayaḥ |

saṃjñānirodho nikhilaścittamātre na vidyate || 174 ||

srotāpattiphalaṃ caiva sakṛdāgāminastathā |

anāgāmiphalaṃ caiva arhattvaṃ cittavibhramaḥ || 175 ||

dhyātā dhyānaṃ ca dhyeyaṃ ca prahāṇaṃ satyadarśanam |

kalpanāmātramevedaṃ yo budhyati sa mucyate || 176 ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate dviprakārā buddhiḥ pravicayabuddhiśca vikalpalakṣaṇagrāhābhiniveśapratiṣṭhāpikā ca | tatra mahāmate pravicayabuddhirnāma yaduta yayā buddhyā bhāvasvabhāvalakṣaṇaṃ pravicīyamānaṃ catuṣkoṭikārahitaṃ nopalabhyate, sā pravicayabuddhiḥ | tatra mahāmate catuṣkoṭikā yaduta ekatvānyatvobhayanobhayāstināstinityānityarahitāṃ catuṣkoṭikāmiti vadāmi | etayā catuṣkoṭikayā mahāmate rahitāḥ sarvadharmā ityucyate | iyaṃ mahāmate catuṣkoṭikā sarvadharmaparīkṣāyāṃ prayoktavyā | tatra mahāmate vikalpalakṣaṇagrāhābhiniveśapratiṣṭhāpikā buddhiḥ katamā ? yaduta yena mahāmate cittavikalpalakṣaṇagrāhābhiniveśena uṣṇadravacalakaṭhinānabhūtaparikalpalakṣaṇān mahābhūtān pratijñāhetulakṣaṇadṛṣṭāntābhiniveśādasadbhūtasamāropeṇa samāropayati, sā vikalpalakṣaṇagrāhābhiniveśapratiṣṭhāpikā buddhiḥ | etanmahāmate buddhidvayasya lakṣaṇaṃ yena buddhidvayalakṣaṇena samanvāgatā bodhisattvā dharmapudgalanairātmyalakṣaṇagatiṃgatā nirābhāsabuddhipravicayacaryābhūmikuśalāḥ prathamāṃ bhūmiṃ pratilabhante, samādhiśataṃ ca samāpadyante | buddhabodhisattvaśataṃ ca samādhiviśeṣapratilambhena paśyanti, kalpaśataṃ ca pūrvāntāparāntato'nupraviśanti, kṣetraśataṃ cāvabhāsayanti | kṣetraśataṃ cāvabhāsya uttarottarabhūmilakṣaṇavidhijñāḥ praṇidhānavaiśeṣikatayā vikrīḍanto dharmameghābhiṣekābhiṣiktāstathāgatapratyātmabhūmimadhigamya daśaniṣṭhāpadasunibaddhadharmāṇaḥ sattvaparipākāya vicitrairnirmāṇakiraṇairvirājante pratyātmagatisukhasamāhitāḥ ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate bodhisattvena mahāsattvena mahābhūtabhautikakuśalena bhavitavyam | kathaṃ ca mahāmate bodhisattvo mahābhūtabhautikakuśalo bhavati ? tatra mahāmate bodhisattvo mahāsattva itaḥ pratisaṃśikṣate tatsatyaṃ yatra mahābhūtānāmasaṃbhavo'saṃbhūtāni cemāni mahāmate bhūtānīti prativipaśyati | evaṃ prativipaśyan nāma vikalpamātraṃ svacittadṛśyamātrāvabodhādbāhyabhāvābhāvānnāma cittadṛśyavikalpamātramidaṃ yaduta traidhātukaṃ mahābhūtabhautikarahitaṃ prativipaśyati cātuṣkoṭikanayaviśuddhimātmātmīyarahitaṃ yathābhūtasvalakṣaṇāvasthānāvasthitamanutpādasvalakṣaṇasiddham | tatra mahāmate mahābhūteṣu kathaṃ bhautiakaṃ bhavati ? yaduta snehavikalpamahābhūtaṃ mahāmate abdhātuṃ niṣpādayatyadhyātmabāhyam | utsāhavikalpamahābhūtaṃ mahāmate tejodhātuṃ niṣpādayatyadhyātmabāhyam | samudīraṇavikalpamahābhūtaṃ mahāmate vāyudhātuṃ niṣpādayatyadhyātmabāhyam | rūpaparicchedavikalpamahābhūtaṃ punarmahāmate pṛthivīdhātuṃ janayatyākāśasahitamadhyātmabāhyam | mithyāsatyābhiniveśātpañcaskandhakadambakaṃ mahābhūtabhautikaṃ pravartate | vijñānaṃ punarmahāmate vicitrapadaviṣayābhiniveśābhilāṣahetutvādvijñānaṃ pravartate'nyagatisaṃdhau | pṛthivībhūtabhautikānāṃ mahāmate kāraṇamasti mahābhūtāni, na tu mahābhūtānām | tatkasya hetoḥ ? yaduta bhāvaliṅgalakṣaṇagrahaṇasaṃsthānakriyāyogavatāṃ mahāmate kriyāsaṃyogotpattirbhavati nāliṅgavatām | tasmādetanmahāmate mahābhūtabhautikalakṣaṇaṃ tīrthakarairvikalpyate na tu mayā ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate skandhānāṃ skandhasvabhāvalakṣaṇaṃ nirdekṣyāmaḥ | tatra mahāmate pañca skandhāḥ | katame ? yaduta rūpavedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskāravijñānāni | tatra mahāmate catvāraḥ skandhā arūpiṇo vedanā saṃjñā saṃskārāṃ vijñānaṃ ca | rūpaṃ mahāmate cāturmahābhautikam, bhūtāni ca parasparavilakṣaṇāni | na ca mahāmate arūpiṇāṃ catuṣkasaṃkhyā bhavatyākāśavat | tadyathā mahāmate ākāśaṃ saṃkhyālakṣaṇātītam, atha ca vikalpyate evamākāśamiti, evameva mahāmate skandhāḥ saṃkhyālakṣaṇagaṇanātītā bhāvābhāvavivarjitāścātuṣkoṭikarahitāḥ saṃkhyāgaṇanānirdeśena nirdiśyante bālairna tvāryaiḥ ||



āryaiḥ punarmahāmate māyāvicitrarūpākṛtivadanyānanyavarjitāḥ prajñāpyante svapnabimbapuruṣavat | āśrayānanyatvādāryajñānagatisaṃmohānmahāmate skandhavikalpaḥ khyāyate | etanmahāmate skandhānāṃ skandhasvabhāvalakṣaṇam | sa ca vikalpastvayā vyāvartanīyaḥ, vyāvṛtya viviktadharmopadeśaḥ karaṇīyaḥ | sarvabuddhaparṣanmaṇḍaleṣu tīrthyadṛṣṭinivāraṇāya viviktadharmopadeśena mahāmate kriyamāṇena dharmanairātmyadarśanaṃ viśudhyate, dūraṃgamābhūmipraveśaśca bhavati | sa dūraṃgamāṃ mahābhūmimanupraviśya anekasamādhivaśavartī bhavati | manomayakāyapratilambhācca samādhiṃ māyopamaṃ pratilabhate | balābhijñāvaśitāgatiṃgataḥ sarvasattvopajīvyo bhavati pṛthivīvat | yathā mahāmate mahāpṛthivī sarvasattvopajīvyā bhavati, evameva mahāmate bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ sarvasattvopajīvyo bhavati ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate caturvidhaṃ nirvāṇam | katamaccaturvidham ? yaduta bhāvasvabhāvābhāvanirvāṇaṃ lakṣaṇavicitrabhāvābhāvanirvāṇaṃ svalakṣaṇabhāvābhāvāvabodhanirvāṇaṃ skandhānāṃ svasāmānyalakṣaṇasaṃtatiprabandhavyucchedanirvāṇam | etanmahāmate caturvidhaṃ tīrthakarāṇāṃ nirvāṇaṃ na tu matpravacane | matpravacane punarmahāmate vikalpakasya manovijñānasya vyāvṛttirnirvāṇamityucyate ||



mahāmatirāha-nanu bhagavatā aṣṭau vijñānāni vyavasthāpitāni ? bhagavānāha-vyavasthāpitāni mahāmate | mahāmatirāha-tadyadi bhagavan vyavasthāpitāni, tatkathaṃ manovijñānasyaiva vyāvṛttirbhavati na tu saptānāṃ vijñānānām ? bhagavānāha-taddhetvālambanatvānmahāmate saptānāṃ vijñānānāṃ pravṛttirbhavati | manovijñānaṃ punarmahāmate viṣayaparicchedābhiniveśena pravartamānaṃ vāsanābhirālayavijñānaṃ prapuṣṇāti | manaḥ sahitamātmātmīyagrāhābhiniveśamanyanākāreṇānupravartate | abhinnaśarīralakṣaṇamālayavijñānahetvālambanaṃ svacittadṛśyaviṣayābhiniveśāccittakalāpaḥ pravartate'nyonyahetukaḥ | udadhitaraṃgā iva mahāmate svacittadṛśyaviṣayapavaneritāḥ pravartante nivartante ca | atastena mahāmate manovijñānena vyāvṛttena saptānāṃ vijñānānāṃ vyāvṛttirbhavati ||

punaraparaṃ mahāmate parikalpitasvabhāvaprabhedanayalakṣaṇamupadekṣyāmo yena parikalpitasvabhāvaprabhedanayalakṣaṇena suprativibhāgaviddhena tvaṃ ca anye ca bodhisattvā mahāsattvā vikalpakalparahitāḥ pratyātmāryasvagatitīrthyanayagatisudṛṣṭabuddhayo grāhyagrāhakavikalpaprahīṇāḥ paratantravividhavicitralakṣaṇaṃ parikalpitasvabhāvākāraṃ na prativikalpayiṣyanti | tatra mahāmate katamatparikalpitasvabhāvaprabhedanayalakṣaṇam ? yaduta abhilāpavikalpo'vidheyavikalpo lakṣaṇavikalpo'rthavikalpaḥ svabhāvavikalpo hetuvikalpo dṛṣṭivikalpo yuktivikalpa utpādavikalpo'nutpādavikalpaḥ saṃbandhavikalpo bandhābandhavikalpaḥ | etanmahāmate parikalpitasvabhāvaprabhedanayalakṣaṇam ||



tatra mahāmate abhilāpavikalpaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta vicitrasvaragītamādhuryābhiniveśaḥ | eṣa mahāmate abhilāpavikalpaḥ | tatra mahāmate abhidheyavikalpaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta asti tatkiṃcidabhidheyavastu svabhāvakamāryajñānagatigamyaṃ yadāśrityābhilāpaḥ pravartate iti vikalpayati | tatra lakṣaṇavikalpaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta tasminnevābhidheye mṛgatṛṣṇākhye lakṣaṇavaicitryābhiniveśenābhiniveśate yaduta uṣṇadravacalakaṭhinalakṣaṇātsarvabhāvān vikalpayati | tatra arthavikalpaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta suvarṇarūpyavividharatnārthaviṣayābhilāpaḥ | tatra svabhāvavikalpaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta bhāvasvabhāvāvadhāraṇamidamevamidaṃ nānyatheti tīrthyavikalpadṛṣṭyā vikalpayanti | tatra hetuvikalpaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta yadyena hetupratyayena sadasatorvibhajyate hetulakṣaṇotpattitaḥ sa hetuvikalpaḥ | tatra dṛṣṭivikalpaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta nāstyastitvaikatvānyatvobhayānubhayakudṛṣṭitīrthyavikalpābhiniveśaḥ | tatra yuktivikalpaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta ātmātmīyalakṣaṇayuktivigrahopadeśaḥ | tatra utpādavikalpaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta pratyayaiḥ sadasatorbhāvasyotpādābhiniveśaḥ | tatra anutpādavikalpaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta anutpannapūrvāḥ sarvabhāvā abhūtvā pratyayairbhavantyahetuśarīrāḥ | tatra saṃbandhavikalpaḥ katamaḥ? yaduta saha saṃbadhyate suvarṇatantuvat | tatra bandhābandhavikalpaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta bandhahetubandhyābhiniveśavat | yathā puruṣaḥ pāśasaṃyogādrajjugranthiḥ kriyate mucyate ca | evaṃ mahāmate parikalpitasvabhāvaprabhedanayalakṣaṇam, yasmin parikalpitasvabhāvaprabhedanayalakṣaṇe sarvabālapṛthagjanā abhiniviśante | sadasataḥ paratantrābhiniveśābhiniviṣṭā mahāmate parikalpitasvabhāvavaicitryamabhiniviśante | māyāśrayavaicitryadarśanavadanyamāyādarśanabuddhyā bālairvikalpyante | māyā ca mahāmate vaicitryānnānyā nānanyā | yadyanyā syāt, vaicitryaṃ māyāhetukaṃ na syāt | athānanyā syāt, vaicitryānmāyāvaicitryayorvibhāgo na syāt | sa ca dṛṣṭo vibhāgaḥ | tasmānnānyā nānanyā | ata etasmātkāraṇānmahāmate tvayā anyaiśca bodhisattvairmahāsattvairmāyā nāstyastitvena nābhiniveṣṭavyā ||

tatredamucyate -

cittaṃ viṣayasaṃbandhaṃ jñānaṃ tarke pravartate |

nirābhāse viśeṣe ca prajñā vai saṃpravartate || 180 ||

parikalpitasvabhāvo'ti paratantre na vidyate |

kalpitaṃ gṛhyate bhrāntyā paratantraṃ na kalpyate || 181 ||

vividhāṅgābhinirvṛttyā yathā māyā na sidhyati |

nimittaṃ hi tathā citraṃ kalpyamānaṃ na sidhyati || 182 ||

nimittaṃ dauṣṭhulyamayaṃ bandhanaṃ cittasaṃbhavam |

parikalpitaṃ hyajānānaṃ paratantrairvikalpyate || 183 ||

yadetatkalpitaṃ bhāvaṃ paratantraṃ tadeva hi |

kalpitaṃ hi vicitrābhaṃ paratantre vikalpyate || 184 ||

saṃvṛtiḥ paramārthaśca tṛtīyaṃ nāstihetukam |

kalpitaṃ saṃvṛtirhyuktā tacchedādāryagocaram || 185 ||

yathā hi yogināṃ vastu citramekaṃ virājate |

na hyasti citratā tatra tathā kalpitalakṣaṇam || 186 ||

yathā hi taimiraiścitraṃ kalpyate rūpadarśanam |

timiraṃ na rūpaṃ nārūpaṃ paratantraṃ tathābudhaiḥ || 187 ||

haimaṃ syāttu yathā śuddhaṃ jalaṃ kaluṣavarjitam |

gaganaṃ hi ghanābhāvāttathā śuddhaṃ vikalpitam || 188 ||

nāsti vai kalpito bhāvaḥ paratantraśca vidyate |

samāropāpavādaṃ hi vikalpanto vinaśyati || 189 ||

kalpitaṃ yadyabhāvaṃ syātparatantrasvabhāvataḥ |

vinā bhāvena vai bhāvo bhāvaścābhāvasaṃbhavaḥ || 190 ||

parikalpitaṃ samāśritya paratantropalabhyate |

nimittanāmasaṃbandhājjāyate parikalpitam || 191 ||

atyantaṃ cāpyaniṣpannaṃ kalpitaṃ na parodbhavam |

tadā prajñāyate śuddhaṃ svabhāvaṃ pāramārthikam || 192 ||

parikalpitaṃ daśavidhaṃ paratantraṃ ca ṣaḍvidham |

pratyātmatathatājñeyamato nāsti viśeṣaṇam || 193 ||

pañca dharmā bhavettattvaṃ svabhāvā hi trayastathā |

etadvibhāvayedyogī tathatāṃ nātivartate || 194 ||

nimittaṃ paratantraṃ hi yannāma tatprakalpitam |

parikalpitanimittaṃ tu pāratantryātpravartate || 195 ||

buddhyā vivecyamānaṃ tu na tantraṃ nāpi kalpitam |

niṣpanno nāsti vai bhāvaḥ kathaṃ buddhyā vikalpyate || 196 ||

niṣpanno vidyate bhāvo bhāvābhāvavivarjitaḥ |

bhāvābhāvavinirmukto dvau svabhāvau kathaṃ nu tau || 197 ||

parikalpitasvabhāve dvau svabhāvau dvau pratiṣṭhitau |

kalpitaṃ dṛśyate citraṃ viśuddhaṃ cāryagocaram || 198 ||

kalpitaṃ hi vicitrābhaṃ paratantrairvikalpyate |

anyathā kalpyamānaṃ hi tīrthyavādaṃ samāśrayet || 199 ||

kalpanā kalpitetyuktaṃ darśanāddhetusaṃbhavat |

vikalpadvayanirmuktaṃ niṣpannaṃ syāttadeva hi || 200 ||



punarapi mahāmatirāha-deśayatu me bhagavān pratyātmāryajñānagatilakṣaṇamekayānaṃ ca, yena bhagavan pratyātmaikayānagatilakṣaṇena ahaṃ ca anye ca bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ pratyātmāryajñānaikayānakuśalā aparapraṇeyā bhaviṣyanti buddhadharmeṣu ||



bhagavānāha-tena hi mahāmate śṛṇu, sādhu ca suṣṭhu ca manasikuru | bhāṣiṣye'haṃ te | sādhu bhagavanniti mahāmatirbodhisattvo mahāsattvo bhagavataḥ pratyaśrauṣīt | bhagavāṃstasyaitadavocat-pramāṇāptopadeśavikalpābhāvānmahāmate bodhisattvo mahāsattva ekākī rahogataḥ svapratyātmabuddhyā vicārayatyaparapraṇeyo dṛṣṭivikalpavivarjita uttarottaratathāgatabhūmipraveśanatayā vyāyamate | etanmahāmate svapratyātmāryajñānagatilakṣaṇam | tatra ekayānagatilakṣaṇaṃ katamat ? yaduta ekayānamārgādhigamāvabodhādekayānamiti vadāmi | ekayānamārgādhigamāvabodhaḥ katamaḥ ? yaduta grāhyagrāhakavikalpayathābhūtāvasthānādapravṛttervikalpasya ekayānāvabodhaḥ kṛto bhavati | eṣa ekayānāvabodho mahāmate nānyatīrthyaśrāvakapratyekabuddhabrahmādibhiḥ prāptapūrvo'nyatra mayā | ata etasmātkāraṇānmahāmate ekayānamityucyate ||



mahāmatirāha-kiṃ kāraṇaṃ bhagavatā yānatrayamupadiṣṭam, ekayānaṃ nopadiśyate ? bhagavānāha-svayamaparinirvāṇadharmatvānmahāmate sarvaśrāvakapratyekabuddhānāmekayānaṃ na vadāmi | yasmānmahāmate sarvaśrāvakapratyekabuddhāstathāgatavinayavivekayogopadeśena vimucyante na svayam ||



punaraparaṃ mahāmate jñeyāvaraṇakarmavāsanāprahīṇatvātsarvaśrāvakapratyekabuddhānāṃ naikayānam | dharmanairātmyānavabodhācca acintyapariṇāmacyuteraprāptivācca yānatrayaṃ deśayāmi śrāvakāṇām | yadā teṣāṃ mahāmate sarvadoṣavāsanāḥ prahīṇā bhavanti dharmanairātmyāvabodhāt, tadā te vāsanādoṣasamādhimadābhāvādanāsravadhātau prativibudhyante | punarapi lokottarānāsravadhātuparyāpannān saṃbhārān paripūrya acintyadharmakāyavaśavartitāṃ pratilapsyante ||

tatredamucyate -

devayānaṃ brahmayānaṃ śrāvakīyaṃ tathaiva ca |

tāthāgataṃ ca pratyekaṃ yānānetān vadāmyaham || 201 ||

yānānāṃ nāsti vai niṣṭhā yāvaccittaṃ pravartate |

citte tu vai parāvṛtte na yānaṃ na ca yāninaḥ || 202 ||

yānavyavasthānaṃ naivāsti yānabhedaṃ vadāmyaham |

parikarṣaṇārthaṃ bālānāṃ yānabhedaṃ vadāmyaham || 203 ||

vimuktayastathā tisro dharmanairātmyameva ca |

samatājñānakleśākhyā vimuktyā te vivarjitāḥ || 204 ||

yathā hi kāṣṭhamudadhau taraṃgairvipravāhyate |

tathā hi śrāvako mūḍho lakṣaṇena pravāhyate || 205 ||

vāsanākleśasaṃbaddhāḥ paryutthānairvisaṃyutāḥ |

samādhimadamattāste dhātau tiṣṭhantyanāsrave || 206 ||

niṣṭhāgatirna tasyāsti na ca bhūyo nivartate |

samādhikāyaṃ saṃprāpya ā kalpānna prabudhyate || 207 ||

yathā hi mattapuruṣo madyābhāvādvibudhyate |

tathā te buddhadharmākhyaṃ kāyaṃ prāpsyanti māmakam || 208 ||



iti laṅkāvatāre ṣaṭtriṃśatsāhasrasarvadharmasamuccayo nāma dvitīyaḥ parivartaḥ ||
